Peace on Earth, Let it Begin With Birdbrain

It's time for a new i {heart} card sketches challenge at From the Heart Stamps.  Imke has given us another wonderful sketch!

This week the twist is to use heat embossing which is one of my very favorite things to do on a card.  I resorted to a pretty boring use of heat embossing, but it does make the sentiment standout.  I still think heat embossing is so magical, especially when you use bold colors.  Overall I'm afraid this card is a little lack luster, but I'm loving my Deck the Halls Birdbrain.  She was the freebie from the November Image Challenge.  This is another BB that reminds me of me, running around trying to get all the special stuff done to celebrate the wonder of Christmas.

For just linking up you will receive $1 credit for use at the From the Heart Stamp store.  You can use it as a discount or save up to get a free image.  For the sketch challenge details check here and for the Stamp of the Month Challenge check here.  You'll also want to check out the inspiration the design team has for you this week, they have outdone themselves again. I'm always so inspired by their wonderful creations.  I hope you have time to play along this week, can't wait to see your cards!

Brenda

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate here in the US.  I take quiet time every Thanksgiving to ponder all my many blessings.  This year it is overwhelming or, maybe I just have a better understanding that blessings come in many unexpected packages.  Perception is everything.

One of the blessings I counted is all the friends that I have "met" through this wonderful "work".  I pray you all have a year of health, creativity, special moments and bountiful blessings!

With much aloha,
Brenda

Happy Thursday and welcome to CRAFT Challenge 339.  Winter is the word this week.  We want to see your creations based on a Winter theme.

Our Sponsors this week are:
Here's my creation for this week:

I used Cuddly Critters Penguin precolored from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps to make a treat bag.  I cut the treat bag with my Silhouette Cameo.  I actually cut the bag from a roll of inexpensive wrapping paper and decorated it with die cut snowflakes and a little hand cut sign.

I hope you will have time to stop by CRAFT Challenge to play along with us this week.  Be sure to check out the DT inspiration and to get more details about our wonderful sponsers prizes.  Thanks for dropping by!

Aloha,
Brenda

I decided to use this cute little stamp, Joy Ride, from The Cat's Pajamas. I inked her up and have her rolling down a kraft cardstock trail.

I'm looking forward to seeing the creations you come up with this week.  You know you'd rather hit the craft table than watch football all day Thursday.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon!

The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday #304

Hi everyone!  It's time for another TCP Tuesday Challenge and it's anything goes!  I'm really hoping to see some of your creations made with goodies from the new release.  The new stamps and dies are so much fun and give you so many possibilities!  And don't forget the sale!

I'm going to show 2 cards today, one is a remake with all TCP stamps and dies and the other was shared the the PJ party.

Here's the remake using Build Your Own Snowman.  I love that the snowman stamps are "hollow".  This allows you to stamp them in different shapes and sizes.  Just love these sweet little guys.  The sentiment is from Penguin Christmas and just perfect for this little scene.

This second card was created with the darling new set, First Christmas.  I stamped and cropped Sprinkle to leave Poochie getting into trouble all on his own.  I love coloring these cuties.  Remember, there are free cut files for this set, it made this card fast and easy.

OK, enough jabber.  Get working on your creations!  You actually have 2 chances to win right now.  As mentioned above, TCP Tuesday... you have until Monday, 12/7 to link up your creations.  For all the details check here.

Remember, the Winter Blog Hop is open!  Just stamp anything using any of our TCP Dies, Stamps, or Cutables and you could win a $50 gift voucher.  We’ll announce the winner on December 20.

As always, I appreciate you visits and comments.  Hope your week is the best!

More Sweet Christmas Cheer

Yay!  We made it to Friday!  There will probably be lots of Thanksgiving prep going on here in the US, right?  I took some time tonight to make a card just for fun!

I haven't played along with the gang at Merry Monday for a very long time.  I got this darling stamp when I went to Creating Keepsakes Convention and finally inked it up last night.  I love this cute little reindeer!  I resisted the temptation to make his nose red.

The design was inspired by Sweet Sunday Sketch 282.  The paper is Snowy Day by Lawn Fawn, the Baker's twine was from them also.  The image is called Bluebell Looking from Wild Rose Studio.  The side border was cut with a Confetti Cut, Double Edge Scallop Border.  The sweet image is colored with Copic markers and Stampendous Aged White embossing powder makes the snow.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.  Another Christmas card done!

I would also like to play along with:
ABC Christmas Challenge - W is for Wild (ok, he doesn't look so wild, but reindeer are wild animals, right?)
4 Crafty Chicks - Inspired by a Song (Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer)
Cards for Gals - Favorite Christmas Colors (Traditional red, green and gold)

What's Your Favorite Season?

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project illustrating your favorite season.  Show us your creation and explain why it's your favorite.

This week our sponsor is:
Sweet and Sassy Stamps

My favorite season is Spring.  I love the promise of new beginnings that Spring illustrates.  I love all the color that springs forth after the essentially colorless months of Winter.

Here's is my card using Springy colors.  Perhaps this little cutie is checking out her Easter hat, right?

I hope you will share your favorite season with us this fortnight.  Just head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your week is going well!

Brenda

Sweet Snowmen

From the Heart Stamps post is here.

Well, another Wednesday has rolled around and you know what that means...Another Little Red Wagon Challenge. This week Mandy wants to see a card using a special technique.

I did another Bokeh card. I really love the effect it gives. I used Alma de la Rosa's technique here to make my own "stencil" and create this background using snowflake dies.  I used 'Build Your Own Snowman' to create these peaceful little guys.

I hope you will be able to join us this week. If you are in the throws of Christmas card making, just use the technique of your choice and link it up and you'll have another one done! Be sure to stop in and see the Girlfriends for more inspiration and maybe learn a new technique!

Snowy Trio

It's time for some midweek inspiration at i {heart} sketches challenge at From the Heart Stamps.

This week I went for the sketch and the tWist which is lots of white. I didn't add color, but I did add sparkle and what's better than that?

I used the cute image, Laughing Snowmen. They are part of Faith's Project 100 Snowmen and were so fun to color. They worked perfectly for this sketch turned on it's side.

As always, in this challenge, for just linking up you will receive $1 credit for use at the From the Heart Stamp store.  You can use it as a discount or save up to get a free image.  For all the challenge details check out the blog here.  You'll also want to check out the inspiration the design team has for you this week, you'll not be disappointed.  I hope you have time to play along this week, can't wait to what you make this week!

The Cat's Pajamas Release Is Today!

YIPPEE!  Today is release day at The Cat's Pajamas!  So to celebrate we are throwing a Blog Hop.

If you arrived here from the oh, so talented Christine's blog, you are headed in the right direction.  If you are hopelessly lost or want to start from the beginning and didn't, head back to the TCP blog.

What an amazing release this has been.  I had a hard time deciding what to share.  I decided on a card made with the Make A Wreath set and Poinsettia CutUps:

You are going to love this Poinsettia CupUps.  The filigree cut takes this flower from fun to elegant.  And it goes so perfectly with the new Wreath Kit.  This duo makes it so quick and easy to put together a cute card.  I made this wreath with 2 shades of green ink and added Stickles for the berries. Super simple!

OK, ready for more news???

It's time to invite you to play along with us in the Winter Blog Hop! Get those wish lists and get to the website here. But...

The only thing better than new stamps and dies is new stamps and dies ON SALE and this is a GREAT sale!

Now, head on over to our amazing Swanky Stamper, June's blog to see what she has created.  Thanks for stopping by during the peeks and congratulations to all those that won.  Go get those new goodies and have fun!

Brenda

Sneak Peek 7 - Spotlight on CutUps

Well, today is the last day of Sneaky Peeks which means tonight is The Cat's Pajamas PJ party and you need to get those wish lists out so you are ready to order...tomorrow is release day! Yippee!!! We do have one more sneak peek for you.

You may have already noticed the fabulous dies we have been using. The Leaves die is free with your $65 purchase!  I went very clean and simple today because I felt the dies could stand on their own.

I cut the wreath from kraft cardstock and heat embossed it with Stampendous Chunky Metallic Seasonings embossing enamel. Love the way it looks IRL. The leaves were watercolored using Yasutomo Pearlescent Watercolors on watercolor paper. Again, IRL they have a rather shimmery look which goes nicely with the embossed wreath.

You are going to love the stitched bow die!  Watch Alma's video here to see what makes it unique.

Here's the scoop:

- The new stamps and dies will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17th.

- For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to The Cat's Pajamas store, leave a comment on each of the sneak peek posts, including The Cat's Pajamas blog. A winner will be randomly drawn and will be announced on the TCP Facebook Page the following day.

Sneak Peek 6- Got Snow?

Hope your weekend is going well and that you have enjoyed The Cat's Pajamas sneak peeks so far. There's still plenty of goodness left to see. We are nearing time for the Pajama Party, so be sure to put that on your calendar for Monday night.

I was inspired to make an ornament with the cute little Bunny from Got Snow!

I used the Heart Rosette CutUps and placed it on a silver doily purchased at Michael's. Then I cut a snowflake using Double Snowflake CutUp. Bunny was colored with Copic markers and paper pieced with the same cardstock used for the rosette. Then I used the sweet Easy Stitched Bow to top it off. This bow is brilliant! Take a look at this video Alma put together to see how versatile it is.

Sneak Peek 5 - Snowman Accessory Pack

Happy weekend!  So glad you are here for The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peek Day 5!  If you loved yesterdays set, you are guaranteed to love today's cause they were created to work together.

I went the obvious route today and created this card:

Alma, in all her creative wonderfulness created a free cut file for the images. These cut files include an inner cut to make the snow globe easily 'shakerable'. I used my old Walnut Hollow Hotmarks tool to create the shaker pouch from a sheet protector by melting the edges together. The snowflakes in the back are the very elegant Double Snowflake CutUp. I placed the very cute, very classy little snowman along with the Stickled North Pole sign on the front of the shaker. Can't wait to make more of these!

Time for the rest of the low down:

-All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tuesday, November 17.

-For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to The Cat's Pajamas store, leave a comment on each of the sneak peek posts, including The Cat's Pajamas Blog.  A winner will be randomly drawn and will be announced on the TCP Facebook Page the following day.
