CRAFT - Make Your Own Embellie

It's time for another CRAFT Challenge!  We would love for you to join us this week in creating a homemade embellishment.  Your choice, just add it to a creation and share it with us for a chance to win.

Our Sponsor this week is -

Here's my card using Simon Says Stamp's set, Some Bunny -

I chose to make little embroidered flowers to embellish my card.  I have a nice collection of crochet thread.  I found these instructions via Google and was able to work these flowers up very quickly.  I think I'm going to make a few more up for my friends.  I am one of those people that can rarely just sit and watch TV, so this will give me something constructive to do.

I do hope you'll stop by the CRAFT Challenge blog to share your handmade embellie and to leave a little love for the DT.  They have some great makes this week!

Aloha,
Brenda

Hippity Hoppity

Sandy is our hostess this week at Little Red Wagon and she wants to see some little creature that hops.  That translates to using either bunnies or frogs or the like on our projects (maybe a Kangaroo?).  I decided to make another Easter card using the new release from The Cat's Pajamas Stamps.

I hope life will allow you some time to to let your creative juices flow.  Can't wait to see your Bunnies and Frogs and how you use them on your projects.  Thanks for dropping by.

Spring Release

It's week two of The Cat's Pajamas TCP Challenge, Spring.  What better way to say Spring than to use some of the special March release?

Today I'm using the new stamp set and one of the new sets to create an Easter card.  What could be Springier than that?

For this card I used Easter Bunny CutUps and the flowers and dots from Happy Easter.  I love the many ways you can use these fab sets.

You still have plenty of time to link up.  Here are the details on our challenge -

  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog and our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat’s Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge.
  3. You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.
  4. On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.
For more ideas, stop in and see ChristineDeborahJessicaJulieNancy and Wendy.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Go For It!

We have a new challenge for you over at From the Heart Stamps!  The sketch below is a really fun one and goes so perfectly with the tWist and the colors.  You pick which you want to do, just be sure to use one of your From the Heart digis on your creation.

I decided to use what is without a doubt, one of my favorite FtH images, Surfs Up Birdbrain -

I did follow the sketch, though it's hard to tell since I used vellum stained with distress ink.  This sketch just seems to work so well with the design and the tWist, what do you think?

For all the details on the challenge, you can check out this page.  We are looking forward to seeing what you make for this fun challenge.  Also want to remind you the are still a few days left in the SOTM challenge if you haven't already entered.

Thanks, as always for stopping by.  I pray you have a wonderful week

Aloha,
Brenda

What do you like to color with?

It's time for another As You Like It Challenge.  This fortnight our challenge theme is what is your favorite coloring medium.  Show us your colored creation and tell us why it's your favorite medium.

Here is my card, using my favorite coloring medium, Copic markers -

I honestly love coloring and still have Prismacolor pencils from an adult coloring book period in the 80's.  I still remember when I saw a Copic colored image on someones blog for the first time.  I was in love and so happy they were available here at a local art store (though very expensive).  Then I took a class and I haven't looked back.   The thing is, I really want to learn how to use colored pencils and watercolor or Distress reinkers, just so little time and so many wonderful things to explore.  Kit and Clowder, here I come!  For details on this card see below.

I'm really curious to see why you have chosen your favorite coloring medium and can wait to see your creations to learn what your favorite is.  We would love for you to head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs and take a look at the gorgeous creations the DT made for you to see!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your week is going well!

Aloha,
Brenda

Easy Does It at From the Heart Stamps

It's new sketch time over on the From the Heart blog.  It's a great sketch by Faith with a fun tWist, Easy Does It and great colors.

I chose by image based on the 'Easy Does It' tWist (and the fact I have tons of male birthdays in the very near future😀).  Here's my card using Birthday Brew -

I have to confess, the picture here is different from the one on the website.  I fully intended to add the glossy accents from the beginning, but was in such a hurry to get it done and photographed, that it completely slipped my mind!  I didn't get a chance to pop this onto the FtH website.

Anyway, I hope you like it and I hope you'll join in challenge #167.  We really do love looking at your wonderful creations and how you handle the FtH images.

For all the challenge info, head here, there are a few details you should know.  Don't forget the cutie SOTM either.  I need to be coloring my mine up very soon!

Wishing you a wonderful week full of good stuff!

Aloha,
Brenda

Whimsie Doodles - Arigato

I want to share this cute little Whimsie Doodles Geisha Girl I colored up last weekend.  You can find her in the WD store under the People section.  I got out my precious washi paper stash and chose a piece to use as the background.  It's hard to appreciate, but there are gold and silver flecks in the paper that go perfectly with the die cut oval she is standing on.

Here's my card using sketch 37 from Paper Play -

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have any questions, just leave a comment.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Brenda

Be Bold

It's Monday and time for a new sketch over at From the Heart Stamps!  This week you can use the fab sketch below or the tWist which is Be Bold or the great color combo shown below.

Here's my take on the sketch -

I would say Lucky Birdbrain is going a bit BOLD with all that green and all those prints, wouldn't you?
