CRAFT Challenge 330

Welcome to CRAFT Challenge 330!

This week we want you to get your inspiration from this picture.

Our sponsors this week are:

AND

I went pretty literal this week.  I foiled several of the images from 'Starry Halloween' from Pickled Potpourri and made a...waterfall card.  There are tons of tutorials on the web it you are interested in making your own.

It was very hard to capture the iridescent colors of the foil, so you're going to have to trust me that it looks kinda cool.  These were very fun images to use and worked perfectly for foiling.

I hope you have time this week to join in on the fun.  Be sure to stop by the CRAFT Challenge blog here to check out the great makes by the DT.  You can also get more information our fab sponsors are giving.  I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

AYLI #63 Sweet or Savory????

Welcome to As You Like It Challenge #63.  This fortnight we want to know sweet or savory?  There are lots of creative ways to go with this one.  It's just one of the reasons I love this challenge so much, it's up to you whether to make a card or bake or cook something inspired by the question...sweet or savory.  Of course we want to know why.

I love sweet and of course had to make a card!  It has been so hot and humid here lately, I had to go with the sweet Cat's Pajamas Bunny cooling down in his sherbet.  I do like to bake sweet things, but as I said, its just been too hot!

I am so looking forward to seeing if you are sweet or savory.  Head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs!  There will be plenty of inspiration if you need it and I wouldn't be surprised if we see more than cards this week!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your week is going well!

Brenda

lrw #308 Fall

*From the Heart Stamps post here*

This week our hostess is Donna and she wants to see anything for fall, y'all!  Fall is the one season I miss living here in Hawaii.  I love the leaves turning, the crisp air and wearing sweaters.

So, for this card I inked up one of my new Purple Onion stamps, Jackson and Bubbles I colored Jackson with Copics and used Various Ink and a terrycloth to make him look more furry.  I loved coloring this little cutie.  I loved using the fall colors and Doodlebug designs ghouls and goodies cardstock.  The yellow leaves were colored with distress ink and the rust colored leaves were made by using the Creative Palette and fall colored acrylic paints.

All the Girlfriends and I looking forward to see your Fall creations. Be sure and stop by their blogs and let them know how much you like their makes.  As usual, I expect them to be amazing.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up!

{The Cat's Pajamas} TCPTUES299 Round 2

I know, I know...time is just flying by...but I have great news!  You still have time to link up for a chance to win at The Cat's Pajamas Anything Goes Challenge!  For inspiration, take a look at what the other Kitty Kats have created.

This weekend, I had some time to play in my crafty space.  I have  another background I made with the Stampendous Creative Pallet.  I'm determined to make this thing work for me and again would appreciate any hints.

This time I used Folk Art Blue Saphire Metallic acrylic paint and Craftsmart White Pearl Metallic paint.  I wasn't happy with the look, so I got out my trusty distress ink, Blueprint Sketch.  I then added Stampendous aged embossing enamel in blue and silver.

I know I have been doing a lot of sky and water, but this background just looked so much like the milky way, I had to pull out Soar.  I love the irridescent look the metallic paint gave it.  I'm sorry the picture didn't capture it well.  The Rocket Bun (colored with Copics) just seemed so perfect for an outer space slider, and how better to make it than to use the CutUps Slider (for a how to use video look here).  I cut out some stars using Holiday Toppers CutUps and heat embossed them with more aged silver embossing enamel.

Here are the challenge details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat's Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button at the bottom of the post.
  3. You must have your project posted by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge to be eligible to win the Cat Cash.
  4. Cards and projects are not required to use a Cat's Pajamas Stamp of CutUps die, but if you do, the Cat Cash amount increases.
  5. On the following TCP Tuesday, the week's winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10.00 or $15 if a TCP product is used.
Aloha,
Brenda

CRAFT Challenge #329 - Add some BLING

Welcome to CRAFT Challenge #329...add some bling!

 Our sponsor this week is:

Scrapper's Delights

This week, I used some of the goodies I have in my collection to make a simple, quick card.  The swirl is a very old Fancy Pants stamp which was stamped with Delicata Gold and clear heat embossed.  I had to add a little more bling to the swirl for the sake of the challenge.  The butterfly is a Hero Arts stamp which I colored with Copics some time ago using a quick coloring technique.  His glittered wings seemed to fit well with the challenge.  The lovely sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas, Simply Stacked Sentiments set.

I hope you have time this week to join in on the fun.  Be sure to stop by the CRAFT Challenge blog here to check out the great makes by the DT and more information on the prize.  I look forward to seeing all your blingy creations!

Aloha,
Brenda

From the {Heart} Stamps SOTM Combo

Hi everyone!  Hope the week is going well for you.  I wanted to get in a quick post to show you the darling Digital Stamp of the Month image, 'Hello Pumpkin' at {From the Heart} Stamps.   For more information about playing along you can stop in here.

Hello Pumpkin

For my card I combined 'Hello Pumpkin' with the I {heart} sketches #118.   I used Copic markers to color this cutie and DCWV paper from the Autumn Melody stack.

There's still plenty of time to play along, just head on over to From the {Heart} Stamps.

Aloha,
Brenda

Little Red Wagon - Try Something New!

It's time for another challenge at Little Red Wagon.  I'm hostess this week and can't wait to see the something new you showcase.  This leaves it wide open...could be a new stamp, a new tool, a new technique.  Looking forward to seeing what's new for you and if it's a tool or technique, can't wait to hear how you liked it.

Here's my make for the week -

The first technique I tried was was an epic fail using a Stampendous Creative Palette.  I tried using acrylic paints to make a background but the paper kept sticking.  Any suggestions?

Any way, I moved to plan B.  As you can see, my fascination for the darling From the Heart Birdbrains continues.  I am using Broom Flying Birdbrain for the first time (and love her to bits!).  I also used my Gelatos for the first time.  The background was stamped and heat embossed first.  Then I blended 3 colors of Gelatos for the background and 3 colors for the big, bright moon.  I just blended them with my fingers and a baby wipe.  I also put Wink of Stella on the moon and her cloak and hat.

You are definitely going to want to visit the Girlfriends to see what new thing they have pulled out of their wagons.  Then, link up at Little Red Wagon blog.  Can't wait to see what you use that is new.

Aloha,
Brenda

I would also like to enter the following challenges:

Haunted Design House - The nights are drawing in

From The Heart Stamps!

Things are a bit busy around the home front, because of this I'm recycling the image (card) that started my obsession with From the Heart Stamps.  Here she is, Innertube Birdbrain!  I am so very happy and excited to announce today that I am a new member of their design team!   I have to tell y'all this is a position I really wanted!  I love working with these darling images.

Be sure to stop by the shop to check out all the wonderful images Faith Skrdla has designed.  You still have a few days to help with her daughter's FUNdraiser and get exclusive images in return.  The other thing you will want to do, is stop by to check out the inspiration from the Design Team, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay tuned for a new FTHS card from me very soon.  Hope your week is going well!

TCP Tuesday Challenge #299

I guess the title makes it pretty obvious it's time for another Tuesday Challenge at The Cat's Pajamas.  No excuses this week cuz Anything Goes.  Keep in mind, the challenge runs for 2 weeks and you don't have to use TCP stamps (but for heaven sakes why wouldn't you want to?).

I made this background using a technique I tried at Creating Keepsakes Convention 2 weeks ago. I used the Stampendous Creative Palette and a Crayola product, Slick Stix.  Seas the Birthday was the perfect set to use with the watery looking background.  I added some sea plants made with the Leaf Scroll CutUp.  The cute little seahorse was watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens (another CHC find) and the sweet little crab was watercolored with Derwent Intense Pencils.  Last but not least I stamped up the fun sentiment on the Fancy Flip Frame CutUp.

Don't miss the chance to win yourself some Cat Cash.  Head on over to The Cat's Pajamas Blog for the full rundown and more inspiration from the Cat Pack!

Aloha,
Brenda

LRW 306 - Jan Digi Do

Hi everyone!  This week it's Jan's turn to host us at LRW.  This week is an easy one, she wants you to use the digital image of  your choice.

I have to be honest, I already had this digi colored up.  Sometimes when my mojo is low, or non-existent, I color.  I love to color, always have.  I'm still learning about Copic Markers and watercolor fascinates me but even less experienced at that.  Colored pencils, lots of experience in grade school, beyond that, I'm a work in progress.

OK, OK, enough...here's my girl.  This little cutie is a freebie from All Dressed Up.

Your next stop should be Little Red Wagon blog.  There, you will find the links to plenty of inspiration from the Girlfriends.  Stop in and leave them some love.  Can't wait to see what you create!

TCP Tuesday {TCPTUES298} Anything Goes Repeat

I know its a busy time of year, but don't you owe yourself a little creative time?  TCPTUES298 is still open and we are waiting to see what you make.

I inked up one of my sets from the Summer release, Shake Rattle and Roll.  I really love these baby bunnies.  I also got out some Color Bloom from Prima and spritzed the background.  I'm still learning to use these spritzers, I actually wanted more drips, but ended up liking the glisten of the fine spray.  I inked the sentiment, fussy cut the baby, popped her and a few sequins on the front and done!  Oh, a little worn lipstick distress ink was added before I popped Baby Bun on.

Time to head over the the TCP Blog.  The other Kitties will have plenty of new inspiration for you.  Can't wait to see what you have to share!

Brenda
