MelonHeadz Hula Baby

I wanted to color up a Melonheadz image to play along with the most recent challenge at Melonheadz Friends - Flowers Everywhere.  I chose this cutie and plan to send her to a friend to try and entice her to come for a visit.

I would also like to enter her into these additional challenges:

Clear it Out Challenge - The theme is Girls and the stash item is die cuts/punches

(Even though I didn't use any SU! products this time, I loved the sketch so much I wanted to share how they inspired me.)

I hope you all are have a restful weekend, full of all that makes you happy!  Thank you for stopping in.

Aloha,
Brenda

It's All About the Hair Color

Hi everyone!  Welcome to our new Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, It's All About the Hair Color.

First off, I want you to know about our DT call.  You can find the full details on the blog, here.  I have to tell you this is such a fun, talented, supportive group to work with. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a newbie, if you are interested, be sure to contact Samantha very soon!  We would love to have you join us in the fun.

On to the challenge...this week our fab sponsor is:

Check out all Unky's wonderful designs!  I chose to use Flower Fairy because of her great hair!

You may have noticed most of my girls have reddish hair and true to form, I kept it in the color family with a more orangish tint.  Who knows maybe this will be my next color:)

I decided to try my luck doing a watercolor bokeh background.  I was inspired by this post on Pintrest.  I used Distress Ink and Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink for the background.

My tip as usual, comes from the need to fix a mistake.  I was a little impatient and smeared some of my dots, the sequins were the perfect camouflage.   I wanted to keep the card simple to put the emphasis on the hair and the sequins sort of lead your eyes right to the image.

I mentioned above what talent the DT has...wait till you see their hair!  If you didn't start there, head over to the blog to take a peek and learn all the details about the challenge.  While you are there don't forget about the DT call.  I can't wait to see your creations!

Aloha,
Brenda

Merry Monday #159

Really quick post today.  I wanted to get this card in for the Merry Monday Challenge this week.  Life has not been allowing me much time and the mojo has been in short supply lately, so I was happy to get this simple little card done.

The challenge this week was to use a non-evergreen tree.  I knew right away I wanted to pull out this set from The Cat's Pajamas (unfortunately I think it has been retired).  I had a water colored scrap setting on my table, so I stamped it with Jet Black Archival Ink and color the image with distress markers.  I added some distress stickles for the sand.  The papers are scraps also, I believe from MME, Joyous.  I used a distress reindeer to color the sun and stamped with a sentiment from the same TCP set.  The glittered dots are some I have had for ages in my stash.

I hope all of you in the US enjoy our Memorial Day weekend.  This holiday always brings a flood of emotions for me as I'm sure it does many of you.  My father served in WWII.  He never talked much about it and as a result, I never really told him how proud of his service I was.  I am acutely aware of how my wonderful, blessed life is due in part to the sacrifices of others.

So much for a quick post, everyone, have a great weekend!  Thanks for taking a peek!

Aloha,
Brenda

Christmas with a Twist

Those old calendar pages are flying off fast.  I hope you had fun with our blog hop last week.  Congratulations to the winners, thanks so much for playing along.

So this week, we want you to add to your Christmas Card stash...BUT the twist is not to use red or green.  For all the other details and inspiration from the DT head on over to the blog

 Our sponsors this week are:

And

Bunches of cute images at these stores, be sure to give a look.  I used the Wags 'n Whiskers image Say A Prayer.

I did a distress in "watercolor" background and made billions of stars with one of my favorites, Stampendous Embossing Enamel.  I thought this sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly! worked very nicely to pull off the Christmas theme.  I stamped it with the MISTI I got for my b-day!

I hope you have time this week to join in on the fun.  I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

Aloha,
Brenda

Celebrate with us!

Happy Birthday To Us

Happy Birthday To Us

Happy Birthday Dear CRAFT Challenge

Happy Birthday To Us!

Can you believe it? CRAFT Challenge is already 6 years old. Originally started by Tracy from Just Tracy Crafts and with a DT mostly recruited from Trimcraft forum members (Hence the term CRAFT Challenge, which stood for Crafters Residing Are Friendly Trimmies. Or if you wished alternative meaning of Can't Remember A Flipping Thing) on the 4th of May 2009.

We have now grown to be a large team of Design Team Members from all around the world, supplemented with lots of Guest Designers who join us for a month at a time.

We have always welcomed all kinds of craft, not just paper craft (unless specifically stated so in the challenge at the time) and are happy to have such a large group of faithful followers.

So, how are we going to celebrate this milestone?

Well, how else can we celebrate than to have our yearly Blogaversary Blog Hop?

We all feature one of our sponsors for this blog hop on our blogs and I have the honour of featuring and offering a prize from the following sponsor. You can win this prize by adding your name to Inlinkz at the end of this post. I would love to see your comments as well.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Designer Draft

Wow, Friday night already!  And May Day which is Lei Day here in Hawaii.  I've had the last few days off, just hanging around with my daughter.  It's been fun and a welcome break from the action at work.  I managed to make it to one of my favorite spots to buy stamps and when Kelly saw this Paper Smooches set Smoocheroos, she couldn't stop laughing.  As a result it came home with us as well as some of the new Pretty Pink Posh release.

It is no secret that I love sketch challenges and Paper Smooches and quick cards, so this was perfect for me.  The Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is to use this great Designer Draft:

This card was the result

I used a Stitched Scalloped Border from Lawn Fawn, Natural Hemp cord from Darice and the sentiment and cute Foxy from Smoocheroos.  The little fox was colored with copics and the sentiment was stamped with Coffee Archival Ink.  I used the TH tiny attacher staples instead of the cross stitches.  Quick, fun and done!

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have a glorious weekend full of all you love.

Aloha,
Brenda
