LRW 339 - Let The Sunshine

Hi all!  This week our challenge is being hosted by Heather.  She want us to use a Sun in our creation.    I decided to use the new Cutable just released by the Cat's Pajamas.  I used several colors of distress ink to stencil my sun.  The rainbow was created by using just plain old circle dies to cut this rainbow from watercolor paper and this used distress ink to paint it.

Now that Spring is here there should be plenty of Suns to go round, so let's see those sweet, sunny creations.  You can link up at the Little Red Wagon blog.  While you're there, check out what the Girlfriends created.

The Cat's Pajamas Spring Blog Hop!

It's release day at The Cat's Pajamas Store so get out that wish list and start filling that shopping basket.  This release is so chock full of wonderfulness you're going to want it all!

Since the sneak peeks are over, to celebrate we are having a BLOG HOP!  If you didn't start at The Cat's Pajamas blog, you might want to begin here.  If you arrived here from Jessie's blog, you are on the right path.

Here's my card using the very beautiful Sketched Flowers -

I grew up in Kansas, so sunflowers have a special place in my heart.  I used kraft cardstock and burlap ribbon in an attempt to give this card a warm homey feel.  Watercolors were used to color the fussy cut images.  Sometimes I do therapeutic fussy cutting, but remember all the stamp sets from this release have free cutables to use with electronic cutting machines.

The next stop on the hop is our super talented guest designer, Lesley Croghan.  I love what she's created with this release!

Thanks for joining us this week, I've had so much fun.  I so enjoyed reading your comments.  Congrats to all the In It To Win It Winners!  Don't forget to get out those flower stamps and dies out to join us in the customer blog hop.  All the details can be found here.

Aloha,
Brenda

With my current love of watercoloring, I decided to use distress inks to color this up -

I stamped the "sketched" image and then colored it with distress reinkers.  This beautiful sentiment is from Simply Stacked Sentiments.  I gave the background a light wash, did a bit of splattering and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets.  Again, I have to say, I LOVE THIS SET!

Sending You

Happy Weekend!  Can you think of a better way to celebrate than to take another sneak peek of The Cat's Pajamas Spring Release?  I tend to say every set is "one of my favorites" and this one is no exception.  I LOVE THIS SET!  Here is Sending You, for your viewing pleasure.  Christine dubbed Bunny as the most interesting bunny in the world and this set is just further proof!  Look at this guy!

I absolutely love this set.  Here in Hawaii, sending rainbows is a very common wish for all things good, so I was thrilled to see this as a sentiment option.  Here is Bunny literally making a rainbow to send to a dear one.

The stencil was made using the Stitched Cloud CutUps which I stapled together.  I used distress ink in tumbled glass to create the sky.  The "rainbow" coming from the helicopter is the Icing CutUps colored with distress ink.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum with several colors and types of ink which were then clear embossed.  Stitched Cloud CutUps were added for a little extra dimension.

Here are all the details you NEED to know -

Hello There!

It's day 4 of The Cat's Pajamas Sneak Peeks.  I'm so excited to show the new 'Hello There' CutUps!  I'm absolutely loving this font.  If you saw this peek from Monday, you can see how versatile this die is.

I kept this card pretty simple to show off this beautiful die cut.  It was cut from one of my watercolor fails, which worked out pretty well.  It is mounted on the open circle die from Framed Up 2 CutUp.  A single flower (maybe a pre-sneak peek????) and a few pearls were added.  I did a little hand stitching to finish it off.

Here are the details you need to know...

As You Like It Challenge #78

For The Cat's Pajamas Sneek Peak, click here.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to use your favorite animal.  We want you to show us your creation and explain why it's your favorite animal.

This week our sponsor is:

Here's my card using Poppy from Purple Onion Designs -

It's really hard to pick a favorite.  I love dogs and cats and horses and baby goats.  One of my very favorite animals is the bunny.  My sister and I were gifted 2 white rabbits when we were young.  My bunny was Thumper.  I just love remembering how soft they are and the way their little noses wiggled as they hopped around.  I used terrycloth and Copic Various ink to add texture to this little guys fur to make him look more fluffy.  I think it makes him look so cuddly.

For more information on prizes and inspiration from my very talented teamies, head on over to the AYLI blog.  Be sure to link up your creation.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your week is going well!

Aloha,
Brenda
