LRW 352 - Christmas

Hi everyone!  Sandy is our hostess at Little Red Wagon this week.  She's thinking cool, as in Christmas creations.  I like thinking cool since it has been rather warm here lately.

I have to confess, this is a card I made awhile back with goodies from one of my Simon Says card kits -

The DP had the little scene all ready for you.  All I had to do was stamp the sentiment and the Christmas Cat, color the tree and cat image, add a few sequins and a small bow and done!

I really hope ya'll join us in this challenge.  I need some inspiration for some easy to mail cards.  If anyone can inspire me, it's the fab crafters that visit LRW regularly.  I'm not going to wait to the last minute this year!

Don't disappoint me now.  Join us at the Little Red Wagon.  Take a visit to see what the Girlfriends have been doing while you're at it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha,
Brenda

TCP Tuesday 319 Take 2

It's week two for our Tag challenge at The Cat's Pajams TCP Tuesday.  I decided to take this very literally and make a tag.  I had fun cutting my own from a rectangle and used a circle punch to create the topper.  The TCP goodies I pulled out to embellish it are Shake, Rattle and Roll and Nested Hearts CutUps -

Nothing really fancy here.  I doubled up my favorite little heart Cutup so it's pretty on both sides.  Then I stamped and colored the baby Bun with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and paper pieced her diaper.  Last of all I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.  It'll will work perfect for my next baby girl shower gift.

Here are the details -

  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog and our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat’s Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge.
  3. You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.
  4. On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.

Aloha Girl

Hi everyone!  I've missed doing our From the Heart card sketches.  I hope you have come all rested and refreshed and ready for a new sketch with a tWist.  Here's the sketch and the tWist this time is to make a gate fold card.

I decided to do the tWist with a little adjustment of the sketch.  I used the darling little Faithful Friends Aloha Girl -

Just a reminder that you must use a From the Heart Stamps image to enter the challenge. A random prize will be awarded, and Top 3 selected by the Design Team.  You'll have a little extra time to enter this Challenge which will end Sunday, July 31 at 10:00 pm (CST).

You may use the sketch, or the tWiSt, or a combination of the two.
EVERYONE who enters wins a $1 voucher code to the store. These vouchers may be used together. They expire one month from date issued.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

You're A Star!

Hi all!  Welcome to Little Red Wagon challenge #350!  Mandy is the lead Girlfriend this week and she has it right, You're a Star.  This translates into...she wants to see stars on our projects.

I decided to pull a never before use MFT set out and ink it up.  This is Count the Stars  and I totally cased this card by Kimberly Crawford .  I saw it on Pinterest and was smitten.  Here's mine -

I did a couple of things a little differently.  I used distress ink and a sentiment appropriate for my needs.  I am also not good at ink/paint splattering, so I used my beloved Stampendous embossing enamel for the tiny white stars.

I guess here is when I should say, come on, reach for the stars and join us this week at the Little Red Wagon.  As long as you are there, check out the fabulous makes the Girlfriends are sharing.

Thanks for stopping by.

Tiddley Inks!

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm sharing a just for fun card, kinda.  Some of the first digital images I was introduced to when starting my Copic adventures were Tiddley Inks designs.  I LOVE THESE DARLING IMAGES!  Since I got the e-mail announcing the DT call, I have been hemming and hawing about whether or not to give it a shot.  The current design team is amazingly talented, but, I have developed the attitude that you certainly don't have a chance if you don't try so, here I go!  I would absolutely love to work with and help promote these wonderful images.  If you have an interest here's the link.

Christy's request is that a card be made, especially for the DT call, using a favorite image.  Well, that is impossible for me because I have so many favorites.  I decided to use a brand new favorite, Amy and Her Mini Mermaid Friends.  Right now you can get Amy and 4 of her gorgeous mermaid friends for a steal!  Here's the end result -

I used Kristina Werner's Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker tutorial to create the fun watery background.  The cutie mermaids were colored with Copic markers and given a bit of Stickles shine.  I tried to make the bottom fish look like the Hawaiian State fish, the humahumanukunukuapua'a.  What do you think?

To Christy and the Tiddley Inks talent, thanks so much for giving all of us the opportunity work with your amazing team and images.  It would be something I would absolutely love to do.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  I'm hoping your weekend is full of all the things you enjoy!

Brenda
