Yeehaw!

Hi all, I hope you are having a great week!  I am actually off this week, running around with my daughter who is home for the summer.

I had some fun yesterday coloring up these cute little farm critters from Digistamp Boutique.  I decided to create a little barn by putting a "roof" on an center step card I cut with my SU! cutter.  I used the wood grain die to cut the "boards" to make the barn with.  I distressed it a little with white distress stain.

These little images were so much fun to color.  I want to enter this card in the Digistamp Boutique monthly competition.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your kind comments.

Aloha,
Brenda

Make Your Own at the CRAFT Challenge #308

Hi!  Hope the week is treating you well and that you have time to join in this weeks CRAFT Challenge - Make Your Own.  Our sponsors this week are:

And

My image this week is from Sweet 'N Sassy.  This is Spot the dog and I made my own buttons to match the background paper.  To make these buttons, I just stamped some dots on kraft cardstock,  punched circles (4), glued them together and used a paper piercer to poke the button holes.  I then coated the "button" with glossy accents and let them dry.  I had to go back to pierce the button holes again after the glossy accents were dry.  I will definitely be making more "buttons" in the future.  I'm sure I was inspired by someone else, just not sure who to give the credit to.

For more information about this weeks challenge and more inspiration from the design team head on over to the CRAFT Challenge Blog.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Aloha,
Brenda

For the Birthday Girl!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend full of all the things you enjoy!  It was beautiful here, we have several different orchids that are blooming right now.  Will post a picture at the end.

I got a few new Tiddly Inks digis this weekend, actually kinda went overboard, but they are so CUTE.   This little Tiddly Inks Birthday Girl was a slam dunk for me, I loved her.  I have a ton of birthdays this month, so I put her right to work.  I colored her with Copic markers. The papers are more of my "vintage" stash.  Not sure who made it but, moving it out and it feels so good.  The roses were made from Bazzill cardstock and the new Tim Holtz rolled flowers wafer dies.  I really like how easy they are to put together. The sentiment stamp is from the Verve set, Doodled Expressions.

I would like to enter this card in:
Tiddly Inks Challenge - Springs In (Spring colors)
Use Your Stuff Challenge - ATG
Woopsi Daisy Challenge - Throw On the Flowers

Here are our orchids.  The first one has opened up even more.

Thanks for stopping by, I so appreciate your visits.

Aloha,
Brenda

Flutterbys

I hope y'all are in the middle of a great week!  I am very happy to say my MISTI arrived today.  This is amazing since I ordered it on Sunday.  Usually shipping to the middle of the Pacific Ocean takes longer than most other places.  I took it for a quick test drive and have to say I am very impressed!  I stamped over the same image 4 times and it remained crisp and clean.  I even took the stamped paper out, showed my hubs and stamped a 5th time with a perfect image.   Typical guy, impressed by how well the new tool works, wonders how it can do that.

Enough about MISTI.  The real reason for this post is to show this card:

and another version

This is one of my new Altenew sets, Painted Butterflies.  It is another multistep stamp set.  These cards went together very quickly.  I can't wait to try these images again using the MISTI.  By the way, I made the enamel dots from Perler beads inspired by this House of Cards blog post.

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge-Three of...

Hi everyone!  Hope your week is going well.

We want to introduce you to a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday!    This week Samantha is hostessing and we would like you to use 3 of something on your creation.  This leaves things wide open, right?  Can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge.

Our Sponsor is:
With an awesome prize:

I made a card with 3 vintage roses.  Love this set from Altenew (one of my new favorite stamp companies!).  This is a multistep stamp set called Vintage Roses.  I actually used the "stamping off " method and only used 2 colors of ink for the flowers.  I think that would be my tip for this week.  I was surprised at all the variations of color this provided without a lot of $$$.

I haven't done a grungy card for awhile so I got out my beloved kraft cardstock, distress inks and vintage sheet music and put this together.  I added a few SU! pearls and a SU! sentiment to finish this card off.  Unfortunately, I will be using it as a sympathy card for a dear friend.

If you didn't come here from the blog, you're going to want to head here to check out what my teamies have created, such a bunch of talented women!  You can also find further details about the challenges and how to become a guest designer.

Thanks for stopping in.  I love that you take the time to look.

Aloha,
Brenda

You're My Type of Chick

I am a chicken person, not sure why, but always have been.  As a child I was fascinated by a chicken butter/candy dish my grandmother had and it just grew from there.  Now that you've heard my confession, it won't come as a surprise when you see my card for the ADFD Challenge - Anything Goes.

I used the new Tim Holtz Alterations die to cut the chicken wire design in kraft cardstock that was distressed with DI.  I loved that I found this sentiment in an older MFT set, Own Your Own Story.  All the DP is scraps (yea!). I colored her with Copics.

Other challenges I would like to enter:

I hope you have a great week ahead.  Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha,
Brenda

I love the images at A Day For Daisies.  What's even better is their current challenge is to use sequins, which are presently my favorite accessory!  As if all that isn't good enough, this image was the freebie offered on their blog.  This is the card I came up with, such a sweet little image.  I purchased a couple of the new chicken digis, can't wait to get them colored up.

Loved making this card!

Thanks for stopping by.
