CRAFT Challenge - #396

Oops, forgot to hit publish.  Sorry, I'm a little late in letting you know it's time for another CRAFT Challenge!  We would love for you to join us this week in an 'anything goes' challenge.

Our Sponsor week is -

For my card this week I was fortunate to be able to use this cute Christmas Mouse digi from Sweet Stamps -

I'm using my colored pencils to color this cutie up.  It's a work in process, right?  I do feel I can see a bit of shading coming around.

I'm going to keep this post short.  For some reason, things seem even busier right now.  My friend was telling me something about the alignment of planets, so I'm going with that as my reason for being a bit distracted and off kilter.

I hope you'll not have the same feeling and will have time to join us at CRAFT Challenge this week.

Thanks for checking in!

Aloha,
Brenda

Whimsie Doodles - Penguins

I'm popping in today with a card I made using Whimsie Doodles Penguins image.  These little guys would be perfect for this months challenge twist.  I colored them with American Craft colored pencils.  Me and pencils are a work in progress but it's all fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Brenda

Hello 2017

Wow, is it just me, or is the earth spinning faster these days.  Seems like just yesterday we were all worried about Y2K...if you are old enough, do remember?  Now we are knocking at the door of 2017 and Heather wants to see your creations with a New Year theme.

I'm not much of a New Year's person, I usually take New Year's eve to reflect on the past year and all the blessing that we have received and the people that have graced my life.  If I were to indulge in a bit of partying, this is the guy I would want to party with -

Doesn't he look dapper in his top hat and that glass of bubbly.  His greeting is exactly what I wish for you, a happy and prosperous new year.

As always, we would love for you to join use at Little Red Wagon.  It only takes a minute to link up.  If it's inspiration you need, the Girlfriends have it for you.  Pop in and take a look.

Thanks for dropping by!  Happy New Year everyone!

Aloha,
Brenda

Follow the Star

Are you doing the count down?  5 more days!  This week Sandy is our hostess and her challenge theme is 'Follow the Star'.  For this challenge, we want to see stars.

To me, the star is connected to the real reason I love Christmas so much.  It was a no brainer that I would use this darling nativity from DigiStamp Boutique, Cute Nativity - Set 2...

I know time tends to be short this month, but I hope you can carve out a few minutes to join us at Little Red Wagon.  The Girlfriends will have some fab creations for you to see and inspire, I know they always inspire me.  I'm looking forward to seeing stars.

Thank you for taking a peek.

Aloha,
Brenda

Whimsie Doodles Inspiration

I want to share a card I made for Whimsie Doodles.  I loved this little snowy scene!  It's called Background Borders-Borders and you can find it on the 'What's New' page at the bottom.

I used distress inks to try and recreate an aurora borealis look for these darling little snow people.  What do you think?  I used 3 colors of distress ink, flicked water on that and then splattered some white ink.  I added a little Nuvo Crystal Drops (silver moon drops).

Anyway...here ya go -

Thanks for stopping in!  I pray your week is going well.

Aloha,
Brenda

Whimsie Doodles Holiday Mug

Hi everyone!  I wanted to pop in with a bit of Whimsie Doodles inspiration for you.  I am still preparing for Christmas and needed some cute tags for family gifts.  When I saw this cute little penguin, I knew he would be perfect not only for a tag, but also an entry into the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  He is loving that cocoa in his cutie pie cup!

I colored him up with Copic markers, popped him on a die cut snowflake and put them both on a cute die cut tag.  I hope you'll take a look in the Whimsie Doodles store.  I think you are going to love the new images just in time for Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of all you love!

Santa's Coming To Town!

Before I begin my post, I want to acknowledge all the folks here in Honolulu and beyond that were effected by the happenings at Pearl Harbor and all across the island of Oahu 75 years ago today.  There have been many feature stories this week of the brave people, both military and civilian, who went above and beyond to serve a need.  All have been so touching, many of them brought tears to my eyes and made me feel extremely fortunate and very grateful.
