I picked an image called 'My First Day' from Sami Stamps.  I thought she was perfect for this challenge.  You can find her here.  Here's my card:

I hope you have time this week to join our challenge, there are great prizes up for grabs.   Be sure to stop by the CRAFT Challenge blog here to check out the great makes by the DT.  I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

When this post goes live, I will be on my way back "home" to Houston, Texas.  I get to spend some time with my BFF there.  We are going to be going to CKC for some creative fun, so my next few posts will be pre-scheduled.

Welcome to the As You Like It Challenge!  This week we want to see your favorite layout...and we want to know why its your fav.

I'm not sure where the idea for this layout came from, but this is the second time I've used it.  I love any layout with banners and this one fits the bill.  It's simple, but still interesting.

Here's my card:

Now you need to head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs!  The DT inspiration this week is fabulous, stop by their blogs and leave them some hugs.

Pink, Turquoise and Green

Hi everyone!  I'm hoping you will join us for our new challenge at LRW!  This week, Heather wants you to dig into your stuff and create something using Pink, Turquoise and Green.  I happen to love these colors individually and together.   This is what turned out for me:

I used the cute surfing Bunny by The Cat's Pajamas.  He's in the new set titled 'Stoked'.  My husband, who is a surfer, would totally agree with this wonderful sentiment.  (but, if I have to work, so does he).  The tag was smooshed with watercolors and cut from a Confetti Cuts die.

You really need to get on over to the other Girlfriends and see what they did with these fab colors, you know you're going to love what you see.  After you finish looking and leaving them a little love and
head on over to Little Red Wagon!  We can't wait to ooo and ahh over your creations!

Thanks for stopping in. Have a great rest of the week!

TCP Tuesday {TCPTUES 297} Inspiration Challenge Repeat

If you haven't already entered TCP Tuesday #297, you still have plenty of time!  Come on, you don't want to miss the chance to win Kitty Kat Kash (better known as a gift voucher)!

Here's round 2 for me.  This time I took the surfboards as my inspiration and used, Stoked from the summer release.  I also used the fun, funky sun from the Country Fair and Waves CutUps.  With all the white washed wood in the pic, this time we went for the puka shell lei instead of the flower lei.

BTW, there's also still time for you to link up to the for all the scoop, drop by Summer Blog Hop.  This one you definitely don't want to miss...you could win a $50 gift voucher (don't ya kind like Kitty Kat Kash better?)!  Check it out!!!!!  You'll also want to take a look at all the fab creations already there.

For some extra inspiration check out the video Alma made using the PopUp Slider card.  Can't wait to see what you make!

Thanks for stopping by!

One More

I got going on this I (heart) Sketch #115 and couldn't stop.

This time I used Birdbrain Balloon.  I've decided it's the eyes that I love so much on these guys.  They kinda have that dazed look that I have so much of the time.  I have tons of washi tape and very seldom use it...so heres a little different twist on the sketch.  This is for one of my best buddies, whom I get to see in 2 weeks!

Thanks for stopping by!

Aloha,
Brenda

Craft Challenge #325 - Fantasy

Welcome to CRAFT Challenge #325 - Fantasy.  This really does leave a lot to your imagination.

 Our sponsors this week are:

And

I have seen so many beautiful mermaids recently around Blogland.  When I saw this cutie from The Stamping Boutique it made my fantasy theme easy.  You can find The Mermaid Dawn here.

I kept the card design kinda CAS because there was so much detail in the image.  You can't really tell in this pic but I added Stickles to her tail and some of the "bubbles".  I also used some Faber Castell Texture Gems to give the little bubbles some texture.  The papers are from Basic Grey and the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.  I'm saving the sentiment until I know how this card will be used, for now its just going into my stash.

I hope you have time this week to join us in the fun.  Be sure to stop by the CRAFT Challenge blog here to check out the great makes by the DT.  I really look forward to seeing all your Fantasy creations, this should be a fun one!

Aloha,
Brenda

Pick Up the Pieces

Welcome to LRW Challenge #303!  Carolyn wants us to Pick Up the Pieces.  OK, now honestly, you are probably too young, but when I say that, I hear the song 'Pick Up the Pieces' by Average White Band.  It's from the 70's so I'm really dating myself.

But...you are not here for a musical walk down memory lane.  Hopefully you are here to see what I did with my pieces, so wait no longer -

This die from The Cat's Pajamas was perfect for paper piecing and so was the little sock monkey (did you have one of these?).   The layout for this card was inspired by Retro Sketch #129.

So, I know you want to see what pieces the Girlfriends have picked up, so you can get to their links on the sidebar or head back to Little Red Wagon.  Besides, we want you to link up your creations so we can take a look.

Thanks for joining us this week at Little Red Wagon.

Brenda

TCP Tuesday Inspiration ChallengeThe

It's Tuesday and time for another TCP Tuesday Challenge.  We want you to muster your inspiration from these great pictures.  If you've picked up any of the newest release, I know your mind is already in high gear!  Keep in mind you don't have to use stamps from The Cat's Pajamas and you have 2 weeks to get those creative juices flowing.

I have to tell you, I am so excited to be playing along as one of the Kitty Cat Pack!  I'm still pinching myself.  For this card, I opened some of my goodies from the summer release.  I colored up adorable Bunny from the Lemons set and paired him with the County Fair CutUps (this die is sooooo versatile, yes you're going to be seeing it a lot).  The design paper is from Doodlebug Design's Sunkissed paper pad.

Here are the challenge details:
  1. Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat's Pajamas blog as well as on our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat's Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button at the bottom of the post.
  3. You must have your project posted by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge to be eligible to win the Cat Cash.
  4. Cards and projects are not required to use a Cat's Pajamas Stamp of CutUps die, but if you do, the Cat Cash amount increases.
  5. On the following TCP Tuesday, the week's winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10.00 or $15 if a TCP product is used.

Thanks so for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Aloha,
Brenda

Testing Your Observation Skills

As you may have noticed, I am a huge fan of The Cat's Pajamas stamps.  I think it was about 2006 or so that I bought my first stamps from Alma.  So here's the test, what's different about this card?

If you noticed the watermark, pat yourself on the back!  I am so happy to let you know I am now a member of one of the swankest design teams around, THE CAT PACK!  I am beyond thrilled and a bit intimidated to be working with such a talented group of designers.  I am so grateful, many thanks to Alma for feeling that I am up to the task.

With much aloha,
Brenda

Crafty Sentiments Designs

This fortnight we are challenging you to use your 2 favorite embellishments on your creation and tell us why they are your favorite.

My favorite embellishments change from project to project.  The ones that seemed to work best for my little Birdbrain were ribbon and a wooden icon by Prima.  Ribbons and sequins are probably consistently my my most favorite embellishments, but then again, I love pearls and enamel dots and buttons and washi tape and charms and twine and flowers and bling...oh my, they are all my favorite!    This card design was inspired by this 'From the Heart Sketch':

I used the darling Birdbrain Chick - Birdbrain Needs Coffee, I can so relate to her!  Other details for the card are listed below.

OK now, for more inspiration and more information about the prize, head on over to the As You Like It Blog.  The hardest thing about this challenge is deciding what your 2 favorite embellishments are!

Thanks for stopping by.  I look forward to seeing your creations!

Hi Everyone!  This week Mandy wants to see what we can do with vellum over at LRW.

Flutterbys for TCPTUES 296

I hope you're not tired of my Stitched Fly CutUp from The Cat's Pajamas.  I'm using it again today for their color challenge.  Nancy chose these yummy colors.

Here's my card:

I used, of course, Faded Denim Distress ink to smoosh the background.  I added the Hot Pink Stitched Fly CutUp and stitched the Stickled the Butterflies CutUps to the background.  Hot pink Pretty Pink Posh sequins added  just a little extra something to this otherwise pretty simple card.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hi y'all!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I want to quickly post a card I made earlier in the week but didn't get posted.  I got my new goodies from TCP and am loving the Stitched Fly CutUp!

I paired it with Sprinkle, Just Flying By and the Cloud Border CutUps.  The cloud paper is Hootenanny by Colorbok and the cardstock is DCWV.  I can't seem to do much lately without sequins and these are from Tailored Expressions - Double the Joy.

A Sad Farewell

Our challenge this time is to create something with ribbons and pearls.

Our sponsors for this challenge are:

All Dressed Up

Bugaboo Stamps

Bunny Zoe's Crafts

Faery Ink

Stamp and Create

 The East Wind

Whimsy Stamps

I love both these lovely elements but rarely put them on my cards for some odd reason.  I used this cute image from Faery Ink, Lil' Queen Fairy.  She has such a cute, sassy look on her face.

Now, the reason for the sad farewell...this will be the very last Top Tip Tuesday Challenge.  I have so enjoyed my time here with this design team.  These ladies are not only creative rock stars, they are kind, supportive, wonderful human beings.  I can't tell you how inspired I have been by all their beautiful creations.  Samantha and Annette will never know how much it has meant to me to be a part of this team.  I felt so blessed that they would even visit my blog, let alone ask me to join the Top Tip Tuesday team.  So thanks to Samantha and Annette and my other teamies who have been so supportive and constants at visiting my blog.

I have also had the opportunity to visit so many of your wonderful blogs and have loved seeing all your fabulous creations. I am honored to have been a part of the team and I will miss this challenge and the inspiration it has provided me as a crafter.

Since we have this one last lovely challenge and I would like nothing better than to see your fab creations.  To celebrate success to the end, there are even more prizes you can win.  Take a look at all goodies up for grabs and to see the DT's final hurrah, head over to the blog, here.

A very fond aloha,
