The challenge this week was to use a non-evergreen tree. I knew right away I wanted to pull out this set from The Cat's Pajamas (unfortunately I think it has been retired). I had a water colored scrap setting on my table, so I stamped it with Jet Black Archival Ink and color the image with distress markers. I added some distress stickles for the sand. The papers are scraps also, I believe from MME, Joyous. I used a distress reindeer to color the sun and stamped with a sentiment from the same TCP set. The glittered dots are some I have had for ages in my stash.
I hope all of you in the US enjoy our Memorial Day weekend. This holiday always brings a flood of emotions for me as I'm sure it does many of you. My father served in WWII. He never talked much about it and as a result, I never really told him how proud of his service I was. I am acutely aware of how my wonderful, blessed life is due in part to the sacrifices of others.
So much for a quick post, everyone, have a great weekend! Thanks for taking a peek!
Aloha,
Brenda
This is SO cute!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card Brenda I love that texture to the Santa suit <3 So many courageous people have have sacrificed much for our freedoms. My heart aches for the traumas of War and I pray for a time of everlasting peace. I am sorry I have not visited much of late, I lost my husband very unexpected recently and my crafting time has taken a back set for a while. I am off to New Zealand on tuesday which is our homeland to scatter half of his ashes with family and then we will come back intern the rest here with a memorial plate so that there is a place for the kids and I to visit. I have not been home in eight years and looking forward to spending time with family and friends there.
