Little Red Wagon #606

I'm so happy to be hostess over at Little Red Wagon this week.  I'm going to start off by being perfectly honest with you, I have a hard time throwing away craft related items.  I don't know about you, but try as I might, I get quite a conglomeration of "bits" on my table as the months go on.  Sometimes it's extra die cuts, sometimes it's extra digi stamps I've printed, maybe even colored, but failed to use.  I often times have extra jewels or sequins and definitely have paper scraps and self created backgrounds galore.  I'm hoping you are the same way because I am challenging you to use up your bits, leftovers or extras on your creations for this week.  Remember, we love cards, but we also love scrapbook pages, book marks, journal pages...you get the idea.

I try really hard to keep things organized and have a little zipper bag (5"x7") that I keep colored images and dies cuts that have ended up leftovers.  Right now, my little bag is stuffed, so that's where I went looking for goodies to make this card.  I found everything but the card base and the sequins in my bag.

This was a fast way to create something and use up the extras too.  I hope you'll join us this week, I would love to see what you do with your bits.  How about popping by to see what the Girlfriends have created for this challenge, I'm sure you will like what they have created.

Aloha,

Brenda

CRAFT Challenge #601

It's time for another CRAFT Challenge!

We would love for you to join us this week in creating an easel card.

Our Sponsors this week are -

and

I had the pleasure of using one of the darling All Dressed Up! images kindly provided by our sponsor.  This is called Two Little Fairy Mice, and I just loved coloring it up!  As you can see I used Copic Markers to color them up and then added a few cute mushroom die cuts to mirror the mushrooms in the sweet scene.  I created a easel by die cutting a bookplate for the sentiment and adhering it to the inside of the card blank.

We would sure love to see your take on an easel card this week.  Just head on over to the CRAFT Challenge blog to link up.  I have to tell you, the DT has outdone themselves this week.  There are some gorgeous, very creative easels for you to check out and be inspired by.

Thanks for stopping by...the weekend is almost here!

LRW #605 - Make It CAS

Another week has gone zooming by, so we have a new challenge for you over at Little Red Wagon.  Janice is our very creative hostess for this week and she wants to see CAS (clean and simple) creations.  By CAS, we are talking lots of white space, single layers and few embellishments and don't forget, we loving seeing creations other than just cards.

I got out an Altenew stamp set called Charmed, and stamped it onto watercolor paper along with a sentiment from Frantic Stamper.  I did some very loose watercoloring with Altenew pan watercolors, a bit of splattering.  I probably should have stopped there, but couldn't help myself and had to add a few sequins and jewels.   I really love doing CAS cards, but also love those sequins!

I hope you'll have some time to join us this week.  Even if this isn't your style, give it a try, that's the whole point of a challenge, right?  If you need a little inspiration, stop by and see what the Girlfriends have created, they never disappoint!

Thanks for popping in!  I hope you are all well and creating beautiful things.

Aloha,

Brenda

As You Like It Challenge #209

It's time for another As You Like It Challenge.  This fortnight our challenge theme is to share your favorite style, Fussy cards or CAS cards.  Be sure to tell us why it's your favorite for a chance to win.

This week our sponsor is:

I love both types of cards and let the reason for the card and the image dictate the style. I do feel that CAS is more my style because I really love pulling one of my pre-made background papers, adding a sentiment and perhaps a small embellishment and call it finished. It's also so much easier to put in the post.

We would love for you to head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs and take a look at the gorgeous creations the DT made for you to see!

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Red Wagon #604

Another week has flown by which means Chrissy is our hostess this week at Little Red Wagon challenge.  Her theme for this week is "Make It Masculine" which truly is a challenge for me.

I had my Silhouette out the other day and decided to look for something that would work for Father's Day which is coming up soon.  When I saw this Superman logo in my library, I knew it would be perfect for my sweet husband.  I used it and my long sot after Altenew Organic Linen 3D embossing folder to create this rather simple card.  I think it fits him to a T.

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon to link up. While you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Frantic Stamper Sunshine

I wanted to share a couple more cards I've made using the wonderful Frantic Stamper April release.  Both cards today feature the cute, Happy Stitch Sun (FRA-DIE-10958) and this first card also uses Be Proud Words (FRA-DIE-10967) from the newest release as well as Snow Capped Mountains (FRA-DIE-10334) from a previous release.

A background was created with a white cardstock panel and distress oxide ink blending.  DOI colors used were Faded Jeans, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Scattered Straw.  Blending was done using blending brushes.  The sun, mountains and sentiment were die cut and adhered to the background as shown above.  The center of the sun was mounted with foam tape to give a little extra dimension.  The completed panel was mounted on a kraft cardstock card blank.

The second card also uses Happy Stitch Sun (FRA-DIE-10958) which I think pairs wonderfully with the Happy Stitch Rainbow (FRA-DIE-10957). Little clouds (FRA-DIE-09170) from a previous release  and Positive Vibes stamp set (FRA-CL-169) from this release were also used for this card.

This background was created by watercoloring Distress Inks on watercolor paper.  I used Twisted Citron and Broken China.  After the background was dry, I flicked it with a wet brush to add the water droplets.  The sun, rainbow and clouds were die cut and colored with distress ink using a blending brush. Colors used are as follows -

Sun - Scattered Straw

Clouds - Faded Jeans

Rainbow - Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean

The clouds were adhered to the background.  On top of that, the rainbow was popped up using foam tape and then the sun was adhered to the rainbow as shown above.  The panel was mounted on a white cardstock card blank.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped, colored and mounted with more foam tape.

I hope these cards give you a little inspiration.  It's always nice to be able to send sunshine greetings to friends.  Check out Frantic Stamper, I think you will be very pleased with there stamps and dies and all the products you need for your crafting.

Aloha,

Brenda
