Bunny Card

Another digital design from Etsy and Zlatoena .  I like the flexibility of being able to size the image according to my needs.  I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and gamsol, the background is chalked, the hat band is Stickles.  I used more of the note cards from My Mind's Eye.  The snowflake is a Sizzlet with a button from the stash tied on with Divine Twine.  A little blink to highlight Peace on Earth and another card is waiting to be mailed.

Emma Angel

Quick post, love these little Emma Angels.  I got them last year at Cute Stuff.  For this card I used Prismacolor Pencils and gamsol to color all but her face, for that I used Copics and chalk for her cheeks. The wings and her belt are blinged with Stickles.  The background is a Tim Holtz Texture Fade Embossing folder which I love!  I used the white core DCWV cardstock and distress ink around the edge.  The sentiment is also from the angels set.  This was stamped and heat embossed.  I used more of the Divine Twine on this card...wanted to attach a jingle bell, but thought it would be to hard to mail.  Hope your week is going well.

Ski Bunny

Don't ya love this little ski bunny?  He is a digital design from Etsy I got here.  Zlatoena designs for TCP.  For this card I used more design papter from My Mind's Eye, the card is actually one of their note cards I also got from Ross (50 with envelopes for $6.99!).  I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The background is an older Sizzix embossing folder.  The snowflake is also Sizzix from a year or so ago.  I used some of my divine twine to tie on a button from my stash.  I cut the green shape with my Perfect Bracket Edge Die-namic.  Remember to take time to enjoy this wonderful season!

Wishing You Peace

I'm not sure where the time goes, but it sure does.  I made this card a couple of weeks ago and am planning to use it for TCP Tuesday challenge.  The dove is from a 2008 release, Elegant Christmas.  It is still one of my favorite sets.  The design paper is from My Mind's Eye (got the stack,54 sheets, from Ross for $9.99!), the ribbon is May Arts, the button is from my stash.  The colors are non-traditional but it works for me.  Have a good week!

Skater Bunny

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I have so much to be thankful for and have certainly taken the past few days to count my blessings.  I have been forced into creativity.  The holidays are here and I need to get some of those cards and gives going.  I also got a couple of things from The Cat's Pajamas newest release.  The image is actually a digital image I got off Etsy.  The designer, Zlatina Gocheva, designs for TCP.  I wanted this digital so I could vary the size.  I used a Nestabilities snowflake, divine twine, A Sizzix embossing folder and the Dienamics Perfect Bracket Edge.  The paper is actually a note card from My Mind's Eye that I cut to make 2 patterned panels.

With any luck I will post again tomorrow night.  Here's hoping you have a great week.

CDE in the Making

Just a quick note to say how sorry I am for not posting.  It is crunch time.  I have 2 more weeks till I take a big certification exam.  I haven't taken an exam in many many years and anxiety level is high!!!!  I have been studying bunches  and life is general has required alot of extra attention lately.  I am certainly looking forward to having the time to blog hop and create soon!  Keep happy thoughts, have a safe, fun Halloween.

Mud Buddie

I finally got this Mud Buddie Pure Innocence stamp a few weeks ago.  My obsession with PI continues.  For this card the border was cut with 2 of the Die-namics and the paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  The image is colored with Copic Markers and the background is chalked.  Have you tried making any "wrinkled ribbon"?  I found the "how to" information here if you are interested.  This particular ribbon is not dyed, but I have used Ranger alcohol inks, Smooch spray and reinkers mixed with water to make my own color.   It is definitely a fun way to customize your creations.

Something to Warm You

I guess some parts of the country are beginning to need something to warm them.  I made this card a few weeks ago after being inspired by a card I saw, unfortunately I have know idea whose blog it was.  PJ Bear from The Cat's Pajamas was paper pieced and colored with Copics.  The cup was paper pieced also.  The punches are by EK Success and Fiskars.  The polka dot paper (love it!) is by Sassafrass Lass and the craft cardstock is from Stampin' up.  I believe the stick pin is from Making Memories.

Have you ever taken stuff just hanging around on your table and put a card together with them?  This is what came from that exercise.  Not my usual style, kinda busy, but I also kinda like it.  The little witch was the stamp that hooked me on Magnolia's Tilda stamps for a while.  I have no idea whose paper this is because it was a scrap, but the border punches are from Martha Stewart (Goo) and EK Success (wavy border).    The sentiment is from one of the The Cat's Pajamas sets, the tree die is a Die-namics from MFT and the ovals are Nesties.  Tilda is colored with Copics and the background oval is colored with chalk.  Hope you have a great week!

Don't ya just love this little bear?  The name is PJ and PJ is serving something to warm you!  I got the "sketch" idea from someone's blog, so sorry I can't give her credit because the card was soooo cute.  PJ's apron and cup were paper pieced and colored with Copics.  Supplies include stamps from "A Cuppa" by The Cat's Pajamas, DP is from Sassafrass Lass, border punch from Fiskars, Ribbon, tiny staple from Tim Holtz (love this!) ?  Hope everyone has a happy Friday!

I know, I know....

I have excuses...I went to a CDE review course in San Diego.  Really enjoyed my time there, learned lots.  Did get to go to Big Lots but must have hit it at a bad time.  Picked up more things for studying endeavors than crafting.

I have really been having fun making all sorts of paper flowers.  I hit one of our local office supply stores and they had 70% off their Quickuts!  I bought every flower die they had.  Now I just have to get with it and use them on some of my cards!  Here is my post for today, another MFT Precious Innocence image.  I love this little girl.
The design paper is from Basic Grey (green at heart).  I colored her with Copics and chalked the sky and the dirt.

Hope you have a week full of blessings and inspiration!

OK, I'm back!

The mojo has been missing lately, that or  there hasn't had time to make itself known.  This card is made using the SFYTT sketch from last week.  I used Jean's cute little bats (Dandelion Designs) and the pumpkin is made with a scalloped circle punch (learned to make the pumpkins last year from Lianne at Cute Stuff).  The paper is left over from last year, still using up scraps.

I hope you all had a restful, peaceful Labor Day.  All ready for tomorrow?

Aloha, Brenda

TCP Blog Hop!

Gosh, was this weekend really 2 days long?  It went much too fast.  I finally got a card done for The Cat's Pajamas blog hop.  I said it before and am saying it again...I love this newest release.

This image is from "Toni's Tea Set".  I really mixed up the papers on this one.  The background paper is from Jillibean Soup, the green dots from the Twitterpated Collection from Pebbles, and the red dots are from Sassafras Lass.  I made the wrinkled ribbon from Hug Snug seam binding (can't wait to try coloring some) and added the stick pen.  The rectangles and circles are cut with Nestibilities, and the buttons are CutUps from TCP.  The sketch is form last weeks SFYTT.  Such fun!

Aloha Friday!

Wow, this week went fast!  School is back in fully force for Kelly.  They are in the heat of volleyball tryouts.  The last 2 days they have played in a tournament with both mainland and international teams.  I get to take snacks and go watch tomorrow.
Cute Stuff, one of my favorite places, is having a sale this weekend.  I need to make room in the schedule for a trip there.  Lianne has Jean's new (big!) release from Dandelion Design's.  Can't wait to see them.  She always comes up with such cute little stamps!

This card is again made with, you guessed it, The Cat's Pajamas previous release.  I love these cute little bunnies.  The DP is from Basic Grey.  I pick up the Green at Heart paper pad when I visited Archiver's in Denver (we don't have Archiver's in Hawai'i).  An embossing folder was used to emboss the cardstock.

Hope you have a great weekend!

CPR Certified!

Well...I completed the dreaded CPR certification yesterday and came out with a card, so all is good in the Universe!  Not sure why I always dread it so much, PTSD from all those years of school I guess.  Anyway, good for another 2 years!

This is another image from The Cat's Pajamas new release...loving all the animals from the "And Baby Makes..." set.  I CASEd the basic layout of this card from Leigh O'Brien.  I used DCWV DP, the giraffes are colored with Copic Markers, while the sky is chalked.  I added a few embellies and you have a card for many occasions.  Love the sentiment which comes with the set.
Aloha,

PS  Today is the 21st anniversary of my marriage to the man who is still the love of my life and by best friend.  I hoping for at least 21 more years!

Oops, it's Wednesday already!

OK, so I'm not doing so good this week.  The kids had a stomach virus beginning early Sunday.  Finally today, they are both feeling better!   I am so thankful they are usually healthy, reminded me of when they were tiny and required so much care.

This card is a total CASE from Leigh O'Brien.  Still loving the new sets I got during Alma's new release.  The image is paper pieced with paper downloaded from Shabby Princess.  The circle and scalloped circle are cut using Nestabilities.  The Flower and button is cut, with die from The Cat's Pajamas, from polyfelt purchased at Ben Franklin.  The twine is crochet thread I had in my stash.  I am loving paper piecing and if you do, this new release is tons of fun!
Aloha,
Brenda

Oh my goodness, have you seen all the cute new Pure Innocence stamps just released by MFT?  I am also loving the new Die-Namics!  Between The Cat's Pajamas, MFT and Verve Stamps, my kids college fund may be in serious danger!

The post today is another Pure Innocence image from My Favorite Things.  I used papers I got from Price Busters here in Honolulu (for a very good price), not sure who they are from.  I paper pieced her shower cap and did the rest of the coloring with Copics.  The bubbles are topped with Stickles and really look like little bubbles. I used Nesties to cut the circles, the twill is from Martha Stewart and the button is from my beloved stash.

Hope you all have a great Aloha Friday!

Happy Hump Day!

So much I want to do and so little time and energy tonight.  Quick post to show another card I did last week.

I am seeing so many buttons lately, I decided to use some from my stash.  The tree and owl image are from My Favorite Things as is the Die-namaics die cut rickrack.  The designer paper dots is from Scenic Route and the flowers are from My Minds Eye.  The cardstock is from Stampin' Up.  The coloring was done with Copics and stamped the sentiment with a stamp from Dandelion Designs.

Hope your day is full of blessings!
Aloha,
Brenda

Pure Innocence Love

I made this little card during my time off last week.  I am not sure whether this was from a card sketch challange or not (sorry I can't give credit if it was).  The image is one of the Pure Innocence Stamps from My Favorite Things.  I am on a kick right now trying to use up some of my old paper scraps.  The paisley paper is from Making Memories several years ago and the dots are from American Crafts.  The cardstock background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The buttons are from my wonderful stash (you can NEVER have too many buttons), tied on with hemp cord.  I colored this cutie pie with Copics and paper pieced her sweater with another MM scrap.  I love these Pure Innocence images!  By the way, MFT is doing sneak peeks this week, take a look here.

Mini Album Continued

Good thing I live in Hawaii, this is a late post, but at least it is still Monday!  I am back at work today, thankful to have had the holiday and thankful to have a job to go back to.

Here are a few last pics of the mini album.
These are all stamps from Rubber Stamp Plantation.  They  were stamped with Distress Inks on the back of the packing tag.  I love this image of the beautiful Hawaiian Wahine (woman).

These images are all Hero Arts.  The background image is stamped with Versamark Watermark Ink, embossed with clear embossing powder and smudged with Distress Ink.  The flower image is done the same way.  Ribbon is American Crafts and the tags are jewelry tags from a local office supply store which were inked with, you guessed it, Distress Ink!

The leaves on this page are from Rubber Stamp Plantation.  Their images are so perfect with creating projects with a Hawaiian or island theme.  The Ledger Clings stamp from Hero Arts was used again here.  The flower is from a Prima grab bag with miscellaneous bling placed in the center.

Another Rubber Stamp Plantation image here, stamped with Versamark Sepia Ink and clear heat embossed.  The background is Distress Ink with Sheer Shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko sprayed to look lik moonbeams.  The ribbon is May Arts.  The background is embossed with one of the Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folders (LOVE THESE!) and colored with Distress Inks applied with the Inkessential sponge applicator.

The last page is a Hero Arts background image, again stamped with Versamark Watermark Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder and Distress Ink applied with sponger applicator.

This mini album was a lot of fun to do, can't wait to give it to my friends, hopefully with a few pictures included.

Aloha,
Brenda

2 days and counting!

Yesterday was a big day for our family, my daughter passed her driving exam!  One of the big milestones of growing up.  She has been a little stressed about this, sharing that she had several bad dreams about driving off a cliff!  I think a celebration is definitely called for!

I am posting a few pictures today of a mini album that was inspired by Shari Carroll (Hero Arts).  It was a lot of fun to put together.  I plan on giving it to family that will be visiting this fall.   I used so many different supplies for this project, I don't even know where to start.   The front cover is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp using white Stazon.   The aloha stamp is made by a local company, Taj.  The flowers are from All Natural Accents and I think the ribbon is May Arts.

The second picture has a stamped image taped to the page with Heidi Swapp tape I got long ago (an example of the collecting thing).  I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  The background is chalked. The Pokadot background was clear ebossed and colored with Distress Ink.  The steamp is from Stampin' Up.   The ribbon here is from American Crafts.

The last picture shows a page made with a shipping label.  The flap is stamped (again, not sure who made it).  The little card inserts are stamped using the Hero Arts Clings, Ledger.

Only 3 more days of my staycation.  Hope to get out and paddle again today. Before I go, I want to wish one of my dearest friends Happy Birthday!  We have known each other since Kindergarten,   Not saying how long that has been, but it has been awhile.

Wishing you a happy Aloha Friday!
Aloha,
Brenda

First Import!

What a great week to have off work!  We are enjoying a "staycation" right here at home.  I have been standup paddling three times this week (and trying to figure out how I can keep doing it!)  Each morning I have been out, several big turtles have been swimming around!  I am not much of a water person (I blame that on being raised in land locked Kansas), but I love the ocean!  This stand up paddling seems to be a good combination of being in the ocean and experiencing its healing effects and not having to swim much.

Being off, I have had the opportunity to do a lot of stamping with my new release stamps from The Cat's Pajamas.  The timing was perfect, I splurged on getting the Kitty Kat Pack which arrived on Monday.  So, I took some pictures today...here goes nothing!

For this card, I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the design.  I stamped the cute little bunny from Forget about the Cake set.  The background papers are from Doodle Bug Designs, the card stock is DCWV, including the cute rickrack cut with MFT's Die-namics.  The candles are cut with an old Sizzix die which has been well used over the years.  The cake icing was paper pieced and the rests of the image was colored with Copics.  A little bling added with Stickles and that is my first card upload.
Aloha,
Brenda

Testing 1,2,3

Look out world, I am going to give blogging a try.  I love visiting the blogs of all the wonderfully talented card and scrapbook artists out there in Blogville.  I hope this will keep me motivated and creating instead of just collecting and lurking (you know what I'm talking about).  Now that it seems this part is working, I need to start improving on my photography skills.  I will try to post some pics in the next couple of days.
Aloha,
