Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family in the US!  I am actually cooking today, which is definitely something out of the ordinary.  We are cooking turkey with all the trimmings.  Just in case it doesn't work out we have the number for our local Chinese food favorite handy:).

I finished my Christmas cards last week! (wow 2 miracles and it isn't even Christmas yet!)  I got my goodies from The Cat's Pajamas Black Friday Sale last and was super inspired.  I am pleased with the way they turned out.  See the inside below.  DP is from American Crafts, last years designs I needed to use up.  The ticket die, the border die and the panel dies are all CutUps from TCP. I stamped the "ticket" using Admit One from TCP and used Studio G letter stamps to add Polar Express.  The sentiment is from TCP Elegant Christmas, the holly is from Fairy Christmas.  I used distress ink on the tickets and around the card base.  Stickles make the holly and  border die shine!  (The next miracle will occur when they hit the mail box:)

Happy Saturday!

Aloha, happy Saturday.  I had such a nice day today.  The nicest part was spending it with my sweet daughter.  I also got to cross something else off my bucket list.  I was able to find a beautiful sunrise shell at a school craft fair!  Sunrise shells are found only in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands so it means a lot to me.
I made this little card for Kelly to give to her teachers that wrote college rec letters for her.  The owl is from the Cricut cartridge, Hoot and Holler, the sentiment is from Verve, and the design papers are from My Minds Eye.  I cut the owl from various scraps I had in my basket.  It is a small card, 3.5X4.25, perfect to attach to the little gift.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Changes

YEA!!! A Cat's Pajamas sale!  Maybe that will stimulate some creativity here.  Lots has gone on since my last post.  We have been seeing the circle of life play out in both good ways and sad ways.  The one guarantee we have is that change is gonna happen, right?  We just have to ease the pain and celebrate the joys.  I am thankful everyday for all the wonderful people in my life, some are long time loved ones, others brush by softly and quickly, but oh so lovingly.  Definitely a testimony of God working in our lives.  I will close with a card I made for a dear friend that has also been dealing with many roadblocks in life.  Somehow this Verve stamp just seemed appropriate!  If you have questions about the details, please let me know.  Thanks for looking.

Celebrate

Hope everyone is having a great summer.  Seems like it is flying by so fast!!!  Still working on the mojo thing.  I did this little card for my niece's birthday, but haven't gotten it mailed.  Things have been a little crazy and outa control since Grandpa got sick in April (perhaps that has effected the mojo?).  The design paper is October Afternoon, the dots are Scenic Route.  The darling bunny image is The Cat's Pajamas as is the cloud die.  The daisy chain is an EK Success border punch.  The balloon was paper pieced (Basic Grey) and bunny was colored with Copic Markers.  I'm not sure whose sentiment this is, sorry.

Everyone stay cool, literally.  Have a great rest of the week.

Cute Stuff Sketch Challenge

Back today from HOT Phoenix, Arizona!  It was a good trip, other than the 111 degree temps, I really liked Phoenix.  The people are so nice and the city is so clean.  The girls played well, kept working hard to the end!  I am very glad to be home though, Hawaii is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Will be glad to have Kelly home tomorrow.

This card is one I did for the Cute Stuff's sketch challenge.  I took this picture after Lianne put it on the board, sorry, it is kinda crooked.  The DP is My Mind's eye, cardstock is DCWV.  The flowers were made with the Die-namics Rolled Daisy (LOVE IT!).  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  Check out Lianne's Facebook page, Cute Stuff Hawaii.  Details on the challenge are posted, you still have a few more days to create for a chance to win!

I have one day to rest up, then back to work.  Hope you are having a week full of good stuff!

Greeting Farm's Owl

I love this little owl!  He is in a Greeting Farm set I recently purchased.  I made this card for a co-worker who loves owls.  I think she is gonna likey!  Other details;  My Mind's Eye DP, DCWV cardstock,  MFT rolled daisy Die-namic, Darice Hemp, Hero Arts Birthday Wishes and a Sizzix embossing folder.  The image is colored with Copic Markers and the background was chalked.

I will be away for a little over a week.  I will be going to Volleyball Festival in Phoenix with my daughter and her team.  My first visit to Arizona, and I am looking forward to it.  My only regret is I probably will not get to visit any stamping/scrapbooking stores.  On the bright side, we do have a visit to Trader Joe's scheduled!

NOMO still holding me back!

I am still struggling with whatever this lack of creativity is.  I sometimes think it is just that life is so hectic that I am having a hard time taking the time (or having the energy) to enjoy it .  I am however, still motivated by caring for my loved ones, thus the creation of this card.  I am sure I got the sketch off someone's blog.  I think it is another SFYTT design, sorry I can't remember.  Whose ever it is, it's a keeper!  I used a Whippersnapper stamp, DCWV card stock, Cosmo Cricket  DP (love it!), Die-namics rolled rose done with felted wool, DMC thread, EK success border punch and ribbon from my beloved stash.  This card is for my dear cousin, Brenna.  It will be late but none the less filled with love!  With any luck I will post another card I did tomorrow!  Hope you have been able to enjoy Dad's Day with a Dad that is special to you!

Amazing Grace

I am still suffering from a creative block (or a severe case of no motivation, yeah nomo that's it!)...not sure what the deal is but certainly hoping that I can get going again soon!  This is a card I made awhile back.  The butterfly is from Hero Arts and is colored with Copic markers and Stickles add the bling.  The sentiment stamp is from Dollar Stamps I believe, they have some great inspirational sayings.  The elegant label is from Spellbinders, and the embossing folder is one from Tim Holtz.  I used distress ink to bring out the embossing even more.
Hoping for a good week for all!

Prayers for Japan

It has been a difficult couple of days here in Hawaii.  We are so sad over the devastation and loss our friends in Japan are having to deal with.  My prayers are will all.

Dance in the Rain

I had some time this weekend to sit at my table and make a couple of cards.  I was so happy to find this Tim Holtz set at Stamps and Memories a while back.  I love this saying and just seemed so appropriate for me right now.  I took this picture with my phone, at night, with bad lighting, really gotta work on that.  This paper is some very old Basic Grey.  I colored the seam binding and the white cardstock I made the rolled flower out of with Distress Ink.  The little flowers were so much fun to make, I may have fired up the flower addiction again.  The layout is this months SFYTT design.

Have a wonderful week!

Dandelion Designs

When I am in a creative funk, I go to my favorite designer's blogs and CASE their creations.  This was inspired by the SFYTT on Jen del Muro's blog.  It was quick to do using the American Crafts paper I got last year.  The cute doggie is one of Dandelion designs new cling cushion rubber stamp sets, LOVE HIM!  Divine twine ties on a button from my stash.  I colored the pup with Copics, cut him out and popped him up on pop dots.  The small hearts on "lots of love" is one of Judith's stamps.  I made this to send to my son with a little Valentine's Day surprise.

I actually cooked today!  I made shrimp gumbo which turned out good, just not quite spicy enough.  I also made chocolate covered strawberries with some giant, wonderfully sweet berries I got at Sam's yesterday.  They tasted much better that they looked, gotta figure out what I did wrong.  Couldn't get the chocolate thin enough to dip them.  Hope you made great memories this weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day

I did a little something for Valentine's Day last weekend.  I got the idea from here.  Really quick and easy to do with the Martha Steward Scoreboard.  The design paper is from American Crafts, not sure whose cardstock this is.  The little tag is from Stampin' Up,  I just stamped and heat embossed it and tied it to the grograin ribbon bow.  Decided to stay away from candy this year, going the healthier route.  Hope the pink pens put a little spark into my coworker's life!

Still running low on the creative juices.  I think I am going to case a few more projects to try and get them jump started.  Almost Friday!  Wishing you a restful weekend.

Itty Bitty Tag

OK, last Christmas thing, I promise!  This is another image from The Cat's Pajamas.  The tags are punched with Stampin' Up punches.  The image was stamped, clear embossed and colored with Copic markers.  I used Crystal Accents on the ornament to give it some shine.  The background is embossed with a Sizzix folder and the texture is tinted with chalk ink brushed lightly over the raised images.  The wrinkled ribbon was colored with reinkers (I love the varigated look!).  Last of all the tree is from the Quickuts set, Jolly which was released a couple of years ago (I think, I so lose track of time).

I am working on some Valentine's goodies for my daughter's volleyball team.  Hope to share them soon.

Aloha!

Tiny Stampin' Up Tag

A quick post...another tiny tag I did around Christmas.  I used the Stampin' Up tag punches and embossed the background with a Sizzix embossing folder.  The trees are from Quickuts, the Jolly collection from a few years ago and the deer is a Tonic punch.  I added some ink and Stickles to the background so it would show up better.  The trees are inked and the star was Stickled as were the deers antlers.  A little wrinkled ribbon at the top and your tiny tag is done.

Hope your weekend is going well.  The weather here has cleared and it is another bright shinny day in paradise.

Brenda

Snow Man Tag

OK, hopefully I am back.  Lots going on here at home.  I haven't done much crafting wise since mid December.  Since I still can't believe Christmas and New Year's have past, I will be posting a few tiny tags I did back then.

This snowman was inspired by a tag I saw on Splitcoast Stampers.  I just cut 3 circles using punches, inked the edges, the arms are a pruned Martha Stewart fern punch from eons ago.  I used Crystal Effets on his nose and used wrinkled ribbon to make his scarf.  This was a cute, quick way to to gift tags.

Hopefully I can manage my time better and the creative juices will begin to flow so I can begin posting a bit more regularly!
