Little Red Wagon #840 - Happy New ???

Happy New Year from all of us at Little Red Wagon.  I have the pleasure of of kicking off the 2026 challenges.  Iʻm leaving this one to a certain extent, up to you.  The key word this week is new.  You can create a Happy New Year card or a new baby, house, job etc card or you could use a happy new technique or new stamp or new die.  Just let me know in your post how new relates to your project.  I mentioned cards in the description, but remember we are happy to see any of your papercrafted projects.

Iʻve chosen to use a new stamp and a new die to create a "just because" card.  I also tried something new by gluing gold metallic wrapping paper to a heavy cardstock to create a metallic cardstock.

The stamp is from Rubbernecker (now Brass and Bliss).  It was given to me by a friend that got a bunch of their discontinued stamps in a thrift store auction. I have several more that I canʻt wait to use.  They all work so well using a watercolor technique.  The sentiment is one I have had a very long time and just recently rediscovered during the move.  It is from what was Ma Vinciʻs Reliquary which was supposed rebranded to Blue Linen Press, but I couldn't find them.  They had a bunch of great sentiments that are so apropos for some of the craziness I see going on here, like the one on this card.

Anyway, be sure to check out the Girlfriends, their creations are always fun and inspiring to see.  Looking forward to seeing your "new" creations!

Aloha,
Brenda

  2. Adorable card, Brenda. And you are so right, that image is perfect for a watercolor technique. Your paper complements the image to a tee and using the gold wrapping paper on heavy cardstock was a brilliant idea! Couldn't agree with you more on that sweet sentiment, too.
