Kate is ending up her challenge theme for this year with Elton Johnʻs Sad Songs (Say So Much). She wants to see projects you have created that give support or encouragement, for instance a sympathy card...
This is a very simple appearing card, but it gave me fits! I embossed at least 3 panels before I got that right. I couldnʻt give the sentiment to get even close to straight. I even asked my husband for his opinion on the straightness. His reply - "itʻs straight enough for me, but itʻs not going to be for you". I redid that 3 times and I had to switch out the color of the butterfly...the first one was black and just did not work. Oh, yes, I had to trim one of the sides and my paper cutter was sharing black stuff that fortunately was removed with an eraser. Oh, my, overall tho, Iʻm OK with the end result.
I do hope you will have an easier time than I did when you join us. The year is winding down and activities are winding up. Please donʻt forget to take some time for yourself and enjoy this wonderful holiday season!
Aloha,
Brenda
PS- the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and the butterfly and leaves are from Frantic Stamper.

Beautiful sympathy card and butterfly, love the embossing and end result worth the hassle.

I hear ya - sometimes paper and stamps do their darndest to sabotage a card but I think it turned out splendid in the end! That embossing folder works perfectly with the foilage.

Oh goodness!! I've had similar experiences where what was meant to be a fairly simple card ended up giving me grief. Your final product is beautiful though! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness! It might not have been easy, but it sure came out nice. Sometimes simple cards can be the most difficult to make.
