Janice is our hostess over at
this week. Her message is, It's a Fake! which means she is challenging us to use anything faux - stitching, leather, wood etc.
I used one of my favorite images from A Day for Daisies, which was already printed and in my stash. I am happy to see ADFD is still open, but I sadly didn't find any of her gorgeous chickens.
I colored this image with colored pencils and chalks and paper pieced her apron (would that count as faux fabric?). If you look closely, you will see faux stitching around the red die cut frame. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
We would love for you give our challenge a go this week. Head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up your project. While you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.
Aloha,
Brenda

I think she is adorable and I do love the apron, so cute. I can see the faux stitches, it all looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI hope by now your all settled in your newly decorated house, just in time for summer. xx
Love the image, Brenda! The paper piecing on the apron ties it all together. Lovely card! Hope all is well with you & yours!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, Brenda! The apron totally looks like fabric to me! Loving the shape of the patterned paper too.
ReplyDeleteYour chicken looks fabulous with the paper-pieced apron matching the background paper. Such a fun idea!
