The Cat's Pajamas 12 Days of Crafting - DAY 2

Happy Black Friday and Day 2 of The Cat's Pajamas 12 Days of Crafting.  I'm the hostess today and challenging you to join us in creating Holiday Gift Tags.  Each day during the challenge we will present to you a new challenge and invite you to play along by adding your project to the inlinkz button at the bottom of this post.  You will have until December 26 to upload your projects. This post should come with a warning.  I had so much fun coming up with ideas for creating tags, I couldn't stop making them.  I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so I just started cutting a bunch of TCP digis and Cutables using Silhouette Studio (SS).

First off, I cut a bunch of Snowflakes from Snowflakes Cutables  ( before I learned to use the replicate panel in SS).

and a bunch of digital holly clusters from Bunny Snowglobe.  I figured out how to use the replicate panel which made making multiples super easy to do.

Next came the Fancy Frames cut in 2 sizes suitable for framing.

And tags from a freebie, TCPTUES 278.

Here are the first tags I put together by layering  Fancy Frames. They were very quick to make by gluing the 2 frames together, adding the holly and Nuvo Drops for the berries.

The versatility of these cut files and digital images amaze me.  Next are some tags created with our Santa from the Holiday Favor Boxes. - Yes, that right,  this file can do double duty by turning them into tags!

Santa was cut from colored cardstock and adhered to the freebie kraft tags which had been inked around the edges.  I added a strip of patterned paper, the snowflakes and then Santa.  They were finished by adding some fun ribbon.  To see how he was assembled, take a look at Alma's video. After making these cuties, I wondered if I could just make a tag from Santa himself.  I used the offset panel in Silhouette to create and cut the backing (.60") which helps to hide the twine ends and gives it a nice place to write on the back.

This was so much fun and turned out so well, I made Santa and all his friends.  As you can see, I added some of the holly to  these tags too!

I have one last tag to share today.  Believe me, I made a bunch more including some created using Wonky Ornament Tags, but I will post them later on Instagram.  For this last tag, I was trying to create a more rustic look.  I started with the kraft tags and added some gold splatters (tho they don't show well in the pic).  Joy, from Red and Black Ornament Tags was cut from white cardstock and then colored by dabbing with distress oxide ink (Festive Berries, Pine Needles, and Vintage Photo) and then splattered with water.  Joy was glued to the tags along with a few gold sequin discs.  Add a little ribbon and another batch completed.
