TCP Sneaky Peek #4

Scatter Joy is the perfect name for The Cat's Pajamas newly released stamp set we are showing you tonight.  These sweet little bunnies just make me smile.

I used Scatter Joy and the free cut files available here along with the new Theater Cutable to make this fun card.  With this cut file, you get a .studio, .pdf and .svgs with dotted and dashed lines for two sizes, 4.25” x 5.5” and 5” x 9″.  The beauty of this Theater card is that Alma has designed it so it won't fall apart. The card I have created today is a hybrid.  I did some .studio cuts and some .pdf cuts.

  • I started by cutting all the solid color pieces (5" x 9") and the gingham pieces with the .studio file and my Silhouette.  This cards went through several design changes during its creation (don't ask!)  and I ended up fussy cutting the flowered panels using the .pdf.
  • While I had my cutting machine out, I cut the blanks to stamp the images.  I use a MISTI to stamp the images.
  • I decided to use the risers on the top and covered them with the Cloud Border CutUps.  I glued them to the risers and cut the bottom edge to match the clouds.
  • The rest of the card was assembled just like Alma shows you in this video.
  • I colored the stamped images and decided to stamp the flower fall on acetate with Stazon ink.  I colored these on the back.  All coloring was done with Copic Markers.  I added a bit of shine to the moon with Nuvo Glitter Gloss.
  • I decorated the inside first as shown above with dots of glue.
  • The sentiment was stamped on the stitched square from the Square Stamp CutUps die.  The flowers were stamped with Tattered Rose distress ink and then colored with Copic Markers.  The dots in the center are Buttercup Liquid Pearls.
  • The Sentiment was added to the front with the "stage doors" closed.  The bunnies were glued to the frame as shown above.
