Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day here in the US.  For those that are not familiar with this holiday, it is when we honor those who have served our country so unselfishly and in many cases have lost their lives doing so.  This day has special meaning for me, my father served in WWII as did my uncle (whom I never got to meet) who lost his life in the Battle of the Coral Sea.  On a happier note, it is also considered the entry into Summer.  In a normal year this would mean things like school ending and pools opening.

The Frantic Stamper May release has dies that are perfect for Memorial Day as well at the 4th of July which will be here so very soon.  This first card uses only one very special die, packed with possibilities - Star Shaker and Frames (FRA-DIE-10819).  This die is packed with all sorts of fun and made this shaker card so easy to make.

The next card features Statue of Liberty Bust (FRA-DIE-10820) and Motorcycle Clear stamp set (FRA-CL-154) -

This was another fast, easy to accomplish card.  The background was created by smooshing distress ink onto watercolor cardstock die-cut with a stitched rectangle.  Lady Liberty was cut from cardstock and heat embossed using Emerald Creek's Seth Apter Patina Oxide embossing powder.  She was glued to the background after it was dry and the sentiment was stamped in grey ink.  The watercolor panel was adhered to a 110# white card blank.

The last card for today again features Statue of Liberty Bust (FRA-DIE-10820) as well as Star Shaker and Frames (FRA-DIE-10819) and Stitched Ovals from a pervious release (FRA-DIE-09638).

This card started with a kraft cardstock blank.  A 4" x 5 1/4" rectangle was cut from Declaration of Independence design paper.  The stitched oval (FRA-DIE-09638) and USA (FRA-DIE-10819) were cut with red, white and blue design papers and adhered to the background.  The statue was again cut from cardstock and heat embossed with Emerald Creek's Seth Apter Patina Oxide embossing powder.

Thank you so much for taking a peek.  I encourage you to check out Frantic Stamper.  In addition to their own line of stamps, dies and stencils they have so many wonderful new items arriving from other companies on a daily basis.

Aloha,
Brenda
