Double Take

It's time for another look and cards made with dies from the Frantic Stamper's October release, Modern Christmas.  I really like all the dies from this release (as usual), but I was surprised at how much I love this die, Partridge in a Pear Tree.  I loved it so much I had to make two cards using it.

This first card showcases not only Partridge in a Pear Tree (FRA-DIE-10715), it also uses Reverse Cut Christmas Words (FRA-DIE-10708) and Chain Borders (FRA-DIE-10631).

This card started with a bit off white A2 card blank and papers from Basic Grey's Evergreen paper pad.  The bottom panel is 4 x 5 1/4".  The smaller pane is about 3 x 3 1/4" and is edged on the long sides with the chain border which was cut from green cardstock.  The same green cardstock was used to cut the partridge and the sentiment, Joy.  The partridge was also cut from 2 colors of grey and the pears were cut from a scrap of yellow green.  A bit of craft chalk was used to shade the partridge and the pears.  Joy was cut again from gold metallic paper.  The dies were pieced together as shown above.  A "nest" of gold metallic thread was created and the partridge was glued on top of it.  The sentiment was glued to the smaller panel and it's done!

The next card uses Partridge in a Pear Tree all on its own with a sentiment from the Snowflake Wreath clear stamp set.

This card started with a brown A2 card blank.  I layered a white panel that was dry embossed with a Bead Board folder and heat embossed with copper Frantage embossing powder.  This was then adhered that to the card blank.  The partridge was cut from a metallic copper color cardstock and glued in place.  The sentiment was stamped with Brilliance Archival Pigment Ink in copper.  It was matted, popped up on foam tape and placed as above.

I hope you will hop on over to the Frantic Stamper store to see all the goodies they have to help you with your creative process.  There are tons of wonderful products and  you'll never met nicer people or receive quicker service.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Aloha,
Brenda
