I love the thought of mermaids, probably stems back to Ariel and the Little Mermaid song Under the Sea (got you singing it now, right?). I have a couple of cards today featuring the mermaid dies from the Frantic Stamper July release.
The first card features the following dies; Scalloped Ovals (FRA-DIE-10664), Make a Splash (FRA-DIE-10668), Big Splash (FRA-DIE-10669) and Mermaid (FRA-DIE-10672).
This was a fast card to make once I picked the papers. A wavey background was chosen to cover the kraft cardstock card base. The Mermaid, Scalloped Oval (largest one) and Big Splash dies were cut first. The Make a Splash was cut from the scalloped oval and replaced using the inlaid die technique. The dies were glued to the front of the card having popped up the mermaid with some foam tape. A few sequins were placed and that completed this card.
The next card features; Mermaid Tail (FRA-DIE-10671), Make a Splash (FRA-DIE-10668), Big Splash (FRA-DIE-10669) from the newest release. It also uses Banner Yet Wave stencil (FRA-STN-006) and Beach Comber Icons (FRA-DIE-09503) from previous releases.
This all started with a white card base and panel. The panel was stenciled using salty ocean distress oxide ink. The dies were all cut out and prepared in various ways. The mermaid tail was coated with Emerald Creek embossing powders. Splash was cut from blue cardstock and more salty ocean distress oxide ink was used to give it an ombre look. The sea shells were cut from kraft cardstock and shaded with various craft chalks. The splash was cut from speckled textured cardstock. The dies were popped up on foam tape, positioned and adhered to the front panel. A few dew drops were added for a bubbly look.
I thank you for stopping by. If you have any questions, please ask, I am happy to answer any and all. I do hope you will pop by Frantic Stamper not only to see this great release, but to see all the new goodies in the shop.
Aloha,
Brenda

These are lovely. The paper on the first is ideal and I love the suggestion of the seaweed dies. The depth of layers on the second is brilliant and the stencilled background is just the thing xx
