TCP Tuesday #355 - Envie Envy

Gosh, is it too early to say the year is flying by?  Seems like only yesterday we were saying Happy New Year to everyone.  Since it's now March, that means there's a new TCP Tuesday challenge over at The Cat's Pajamas and this month it's a super fun one - Envie Envy!

I don't know about you, but I tend to ignore the inside of a card most of the time and definitely never even thought of decorating the envelope.  I have to say tho, I had a blast doing this.  Here's my card and envie featuring Sending You, Stitched Clouds, Stitched Enjoy and the silver saucer sequins -

I purchased some very inexpensive watercolor paper that isn't very good for watercoloring, but it turned out to be great for using smoosching/spraying technique to create a sky like background.  It was thick enough to hold the water yet thin enough to turn into an envelope.

Distress oxide inks in Stormy Sky, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire and Squeezed Lemonade where used for this project.  The ink pads where added direct to the paper in a very random way and then sprayed with quite a bit of water until the lines of ink disappeared and blended.  Excess water was tilted off the paper (I found that using a paper towel took off too much of the color) and hung it to air dry.

The card was made with a watercolor background made in the same manor and cut and adhered to the card base.  The Bunny was cut out using a Scan N Cut, but remember the free Cutables cut files here can be used as well.  I added a little fussy cutting here and there.

The Bunny and his helicopter were colored with Copic markers -
R17, 29, 39 for the copter body
B 21, 60 for the copter window
C 0, 1, 3 were used for the "hardware" on the copter Bunny's body
C 3, 5, 7 were used for Bunny's nose

The Stitched Clouds and Stitched Enjoy were die cut from cardstock.  Button thread was tied to the helicopter and the die cut pieces were laid on the background to determine position.  The thread was woven through "Enjoy" and tied to the y before permanently adhering all the pieces in place.  3 sequins were then positioned and adhered to the card for a bit of extra interest.

On to the envie which was easy to make using an envelope punch board.  I just followed the directions to cut an envelope for a 5 x 5 card.  The insert was made from deli paper which was really nice to stamp on.  I cut the insert using the actual envelope as my pattern.  I stamped the Hugs sentiment until the insert was covered and then went back and added the tiny heart.  The insert was placed and adhered to the inside of the envelope with double sided tape.  Now the card is ready to wish one of my friends a happy retirement.

OK, now for the details on the challenge -
