I loved making this card. I used some of my precious washi paper along with the following dies; Eastern Wave Border (FRA-DIE-10564), Chinese Luck Knot (FRA-DIE-10572), Geisha with Fan (FRA-DIE-10567) and Dog Tags (FRA-DIE-10429) from a previous release. I noticed there is a Washi Paper assortment available in the store too!
This card is pretty straight forward. I watercolored the geisha and paper pieced her kimono, otherwise these gorgeous dies do all the work.
I have another Geshia with Fan (FRA-DIE-10567) creation. For this card I stenciled the background using shaded lilac distress ink and the Asian Screen stencil (FRA-STN-022).
The geisha was again watercolored and paper pieced using origami paper. The crane is an origami fold, very easy to do. The kanji is from the Serenity Kanji (FRA-DIE-10576).
And one last card for today. This card features one of my favorite dies from this release the Large Kimono (FRA-DIE-10568). Other products used are Asian Elements (FRA-STN-023) and Asian Screen (FRA-STN-022) Stencils.
The kimono was cut from more of my washi paper stash. It is being displayed as I have seen other beautiful silk kimonos. The background is again stenciled with distress ink, black soot and the fans were heat embossed using an embossing pen to draw the design. The weaving on the embossing folder reminded me of a tatami mat which I thought would be in keeping with the theme.
Thanks for taking a peek. I hope you've been a bit inspired to take a look at Frantic Stamper. They have just tons of cool crafting stuff (besides their own line of stamps, dies and stencils) and they are just some of the nicest, most efficient folks you're ever going to deal with.
Aloha!
