These tiny cuties are what started my relationship with Frantic Stamper. I saw them somewhere and just fell in love, I guess because they remind me of my daughter when she was small.
Kokeshi Japanese Paper Dolls |
Now knowing that, you can imagine how excited I was to see a larger, slightly different version, Large Kokeshi Paper Dolls (FRA-DIE-10569). Here she is along with Chinese Luck Knot (FRA-DIE-10572), Stitched Squares (FRA-DIE-09639), Double Fishtail Labels (FRA-DIE-09735), and Reach for the Stars clear stamp set (FRA-CL-109) -
I used some of my washi paper to cute the squares and paper pieced the little doll with cardstock. I LOVE these little girls. I loved them so much and the size is just perfect (roughly 2.5"). I decided to do some fabric piecing and place them on a t-shirt and here they are -
I fused them together using something similar to WonderUnder and a teflon mat and ironed the right on that shirt. The fabric is from my Japanese fabric stash (yes, I love beautiful fabric too!). I used thin permanent marker and Copic markers to enhance their features and am happy to say they have remained adhered even after about 4 machine washings.
OK, enough, I did just notice they are currently sold out, but I'm sure those gals at Frantic Stamper are in the process of getting them restocked.
Gotta go finish up the holiday cooking, baking, celebrating. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas with time spent with those you love and remembering the true reason we celebrate this day.
Aloha,
Brenda
