Happy 4th of July!

Just a quick post to share a card I made in honor of the USA.  Happy Birthday, America!

I was recently introduced to Vera Lane Studio and immediately fell in love with all of Janet's quirky little characters.  You will meet several more of them in the near future😁.  Here's her Etsy store and here is my card using half of Bit by Bit -

I also want to thank all of our service men and women for all they do and have done.  I met a young man today who is serving in the Middle East.  He had been traveling for 2 days to get back here to be with his father who had just undergone open heart surgery.  He will be here for one week and then that long flight back to the desert.  He was smart, kind, appreciative, loving, helpful and could be doing any number of other things with his life, yet he chose to serve his country.  I am very grateful, I realize freedom comes at a very high price.  We all need to protect it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha,
Brenda

  2. This is such a fun card to celebrate Independence Day, Brenda! What a remarkable young man you met, we sometimes take our Armed Forces for granted, forgetting that they are humans like us with their own family trials to cope with as well as the stresses of active service. I pray that his father recovers from his surgery and that they will meet again soon.
