Welcome to another peek of the newest release from The Cat's Pajamas!! Today you get a quadruple shot of sweetness! Alma has outdone herself with this release. I am using bits and pieces of these fab products including 2 of the new CutUps.
I had such a great time making flowers with the Petal Posies CutUPs, I only used the sentiments from the first set, Nature's Hello. I love PJ, but the flowers won out for this one.
These posies are prefect for creating wonderful, full paper flowers. There are many flower techniques out there (love Pintrest!). To make these, I cut 5 layers of cardstock for each flower, punched a hole in the center, soaked them with water, scrunched them up, flattened them out, and placed a small brad to hold them together. After they were secured, I bunched all the layers up to look kinda like a rose bud and let them dry overnight. I slowly peeled the petals down, cut the medium flower to make leaves and sprayed them with Shimmer Spritz. The big butterfly (multiple layers of tissue paper sewn together) from the Butterflies CutUps seemed to belong on this tag colored with a Distress Ink technique. I also tried my hand a crinkling organza ribbon with my heat gun...all kinds of fun was had making this tag.
The set used to create the next card may be my favorite of the collection, Simple Blooms. I was challenged to come up with a way to use this set, I didn't want a solid color image. Here's what happened...
I colored on the stamp with several shades of Copic Markers, spritzed it with Copic Various Ink and stamped the image. The spritzing made it kinda scary, I had little control over what happened next. I love the way it turned out, just seems to fit this gorgeous stamp!
Be sure check the TCP Blog to see all the other fun projects created by the Cat Pack and the Swanky Stampers. Plenty of inspiration to be found with all these talented women around. You'll definitely want to see the new Cutables in action! Please stop by here tomorrow for another peek!
