CRAFT Colour Challenge #292

Happy New Year!!!!  Hope this year is your best one yet!  I'm so glad you stopped by for the CRAFT Colour Challenge.  Here's our fab combo:

I love these relaxing blue/grey tones.  I chose to use the solid colors with one patterned paper designed by our very own Jo!  Here's what I came up with:

As you can see, I made a calendar card for one of my co-workers.  Hope she appreciates the attempt at humor.  This sweet digi, "You Moove Me" from Pattie's Creations Digital Stamps was the inspiration.  The card recipe was from Sweetest Thing #247 and it worked pefectly for this fold up calendar.

I know it's New Year's Day, but you have until 6 pm (GMT) next Wednesday to play.  As usual, our wonderful sponsors have some great prizes up for grabs...

Digital Delights with a prize of:

Pattie's Creations Digital Images with a prize of 3 images of your choice

And, our sponsor for the Top 3 is:

Viva la Verve One Sheet Wonders #1

I absolutely love Julee's idea here and had to give it a try.  I'm considering this a start to next years Christmas cards.

Here is sketch 1:

Here is card 1:

I used Verve's 'Every Heart' Plain Jane for all 4 cards and heat embossed them with a Creations Unlimited powder called Golden Rose.  I love the way it looks in real life. The paper is Basic Grey's 6x6 Evergreen Paper Pad. I used Sequined Bunny sequins and a very old Making Memories heart for embellishments. Fun, fun! Instead of using one double sided sheet, I used scraps to create these wonderful designs. With a little luck, will be posting the others soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Aloha,
Brenda

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge-Make Your Own

MAKE YOUR OWN!

Our Sponser this week is

One lucky Random winner will win 7 Digi images for their choice

Well, at this point all the Christmas festivities should be well under control, right?  If not (like me) you could probably use a break, so come join in on this weeks Make Your Own Challenge.  This one leaves lots of room for creativity...you could make buttons, your own embossing folder, background paper, flowers, crochet snowflakes...   I decided to try to make the dot embellishments that are so popular.  I was inspired by a Pintrest post.  The difference between mine and the pin is that I made mine with glitter glue sticks.  I have tried and been successful using the melted pony bead technique also, but like this one better.  Kinda hard to see in the pic, but the dots have a nice little sparkle IRL.

TTT-Inspiration from something in your home

I want to  let you know about the newest Top Tip Tuesday ChallengeInspiration from something in your home.  I also want to introduce you to Scarey Santa, my inspiration:

He was named this by my children when they were small.  I have to admit Santa has lost a lot of his former glory.  He was stuck in an attic for many years but he lives with us all year round now.  He belonged to my parents and, well, lets just say he is older than I am and that definitely qualifies him for vintage, almost antique:).  I love him despite this because of the memories of Christmas past that he evokes, and they are all wonderful.

This is the design I came up with to honor these memories:

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Fred She Said.
I stopped by the website and saw some wonderful goodies.  They have not only digital images, but cut files and beautiful digital papers.  Take a look see for your self.  Better yet, enter the TTT Challenge for a chance to win a very generous $20 voucher!

My tip for this week is to always test older embossing powder before you put it on your project.  Apparently it can get old and this results in a less than desirable effect.  (Don't ask me how I know this.)

I hope you have a chance to join in the fun.  Thanks for stopping by!

Brenda
