Today is a big day over at The Cat's Pajamas. It's time to share some more TCP Tuesday Move It projects
AND
it's time for us to start revealing the May release!
My card today is a shaker that features the new stamp set, Hey Gillfriend
A new Duo Die - Porthole
and a gorgeous new sequin mix, By the Sea
All these goodies work perfectly together.
Here's my card, take a little peek through the porthole and under the sea -
For this card, I stamped, heat embossed and cut the images out with a Scan'N Cut (but remember the free cutfiles). The images were colored with Copic markers and set to the side. The background is a mono print made with acrylic paints on deli paper using a gel plate. It's hard to see, but I used Beaches CutUps with a silicon mat and ran it through my Big Shot to give the appearance of waves. The background was adhered to the inside of a card base.
The porthole was cut from a metallic cardstock and two circles of acetate were cut just slightly larger that the porthole opening. The first acetate circle was adhered to the back of the porthole then foam tape was adhered around the it. A few of the sequins were placed and the second acrylic circle was adhered to the foam tape to form a see thru back for the shaker. A panel of grey textured cardstock was adhered to the front of the card base. A 2 1/2" circle was cut through the front panel (slightly smaller that the porthole opening) and the porthole was adhered so there is a nice, clean view from the inside.
For the inside, a few of the ocean plants were stamped and placement of the mermaids and seahorses was determined by peeking through the porthole. Finally, the sentiment was stamped on a scrap of the mono print, clear heat embossed and cut into a fishtail flag and adhered to the front.
Whew! I hope that made sense. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to leave them in the comments.
Wow what a fabulous little shaker card, I love it! the sequins are so perfect fro this theme and your sweet little mermaid images are just gorgeous.
