Pearls or Gems?

It's time for another As You Like It Challenge.  This fortnight our challenge theme is to share you favorite.  Use a pearl or a gem on your creation and tell us why it's your favorite.

Here is my card, using the Vera Lane Studio image Whimsical Fairy, Fayette -

I like both pearls and gems to give a project that extra little something. I tend to choose them to match the overall designed of my card. This card was just begging for the sparkle of gems.  The little flowers on Fayette's haku lei were just the perfect place for some sparkle and the sentiment couldn't have been more perfect.  What you can't really appreciate is the shimmer on the sentiment.  It was sprayed with Color Bloom and mounted on sparkly paper.
