CRAFT 379 - Embossing

It's time for another CRAFT Challenge!  We would love for you to join us this week in creating a project using embossing, you pick, dry embossing or heat embossing.

Our Sponsor this week is -

Here's my card using an older embossing folder from Stampin' Up -

I kept is rather simple to show off the wonderful design of the folder.  The sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

I hope you'll have time this week to join us in our embossing challenge.  I look forward to seeing your creations.  I want to encourage you to head over to CRAFT Challenge blog to see what the DT did this week.  They are one talented group of ladies and think you will love the cute Crafty Sentiments images.

Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha,
Brenda

Let's Get Inky (Again)

Well it's Wednesday again and Blogger is playing tricks on me (it has to be Blogger, right, cuz I really did do the post).  I had this post all ready to go live at 6 am EST and when I checked to link up at 6 am HST it was nowhere to be found...so this will be short and sweet.

So, as you probably know, Mandy wants us to get out those ink pads an use them for something other that just stamping a sentiment (which is what I usually do).  Here's my card -

I had fun using an older Stampin' Up set to create the little rainbow for this sweet Reverse Confetti Unicorn.  The sentiment makes me smile and is from Concord and 9th, Planner Peepers.  That gloppy looking stuff on his mane and horn is clear Atyou Spica.  IRL it's all nice and sparkly.

I hope you'll find time to play along with us at Little Red Wagon, I'm sure you have some stamp pads in there that are longing to be used.  I can't wait to see what the Girlfriends have do with this challenge, be sure to stop by their blogs for lots of inspiration.

Thanks for dropping in.

Aloha,
Brenda

PS - All these stamp sets were in my labels...I wonder what the heck happened to the post???

FtHS - Mid Week Inspiration

Happy mid week everyone!  I pray your week is going well.  I'm here with another card I made using the darling From the Heart Stamp's Frog and Frozen Flies -

I used my MISTI to double stamp the background, first with dye ink and then with VersaMark.  Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and used distress ink in blue.  The sentiment was "embossed" with a Sakura Glaze pen.  I love the dimension it gave.  I covered the cute fly on the "ice bar" with a puffy bug sticker.  He just has such personality, such a fun image to color.

As for an update on Faith, I checked FB last night and Faith's father posted that she is home now, which I know makes everyone a little better.  Let's all keep on praying and sending healing thoughts her way.

I hope you'll stop in next week, September for our monthly blog hop.  It's sure to be a fun one!

Aloha,
Brenda

TCP 322 - Embossing

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It's time for a new TCP Tuesday Challenge over at The Cat's Pajamas.  This time we want to see you use some type of embossing on your projects.

I love embossing powder, so I couldn't resist using it with Bunny the Astronaut in the sweet set, Fly High -

I feel like I've been doing a lot of galaxies and oceans lately, perhaps I'm in a bit of a rut.  This time I used distress ink and embossing enamel to create the Milky Way for Bunny.  I got a Milwaukee heat gun a while back and I'm really loving it.  It heats up very fast.  So far I would recommend it highly if you love embossing as much as I do.
Here are the details of the challenge -

  • Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog and our Facebook page.

  • If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat’s Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge.

  • You are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas stamp or die but if you have them we would love to see them.

  • On the following TCP Tuesday, the winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.

  • For more ideas, stop in and see JulieNancy and Wendy.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations!

Surf's Up at Little Red Wagon

Hi everyone!  Well, school is starting here and Summer is winding down other places, so I thought it might be fun to do a Surf's Up challenge to usher it out with style.  Now, for this challenge I had in mind, literally surfing or ocean type scenes with mermaid or fishes...but to make it easier lets just go with anything tropical.

I'm hoping you'll join us this week at Little Red Wagon.  We are looking forward to seeing what your create!

If you've ever seen the cherry blossoms in bloom you know how breathtakingly beautiful they are.  Here my card featuring the sakura or cherry blossom -

    Little Red Wagon Challenge #354

Welcome!  This week Janice is our hostess.  I am actually very thankful she chose sympathy cards for the challenge this week.  I usually end up buying my sympathy cards because I never feel like making them when there is a need.

This one was so easy, I should make a few more right now.  I used stamps from The Cat's Pajamas and totally CASED this wonderful design -

I was completely inspired by this beautiful Pinterest find.  If you can get to Splitcoaststampers, check out the gallery of hobbydujour, its full of beautiful creations.
