little red wagon!!

If you're thinking Miranda Lambert, think again.  I want you to think Little Red Wagon Challenge!  I am so happy to share with you, I will be one of the newbies designing with the Girlfriends!  If you haven't been to the blog, stop in and take a look at the fun challenges we have in store.  I am thrilled to be starting with them next week.  Challenge #295 this week is 'Cute as a Button' and you got it, Tracy wants to see buttons.

I made this card to commemorate Leon Day.  One of the local radio stations here celebrates Leon (Noel backwards) by playing Christmas carols because it's only 6 months till Christmas!  I thought it would be fitting to add to my Christmas Card stash and use a button.

If you want more inspiration, I have links to the other Girlfriend's blogs on the side bar.  Not only are they lovely and talented, they are witty and reading their posts will make you smile!

We've almost made it to the weekend!  Hope the week has been good to you.

Inspired by a Book

Welcome to CRAFT Challenge #317; Inspired by a book.

 Our sponsor this week is:

Truthfully, I did things backwards.  I chose this cute digi from Scrapper's Delight and then remembered a wonderful book, Hello Ocean by Pam Munoz Ryan.  This is the card that developed:

Manga Beach Digi 8
I colored the image with Copic Markers, but tried to define the hair more with my Prismacolor Pencils.  (I'm still practicing on hair and folds for sure.)  I fired up my Silhouette to cut the palm tree, the waves and the sand were cut with Lawn Fawn dies and that is pretty much it.

I hope you have time this week to stop in and join the fun.  Be sure to check out by the CRAFT Challenge blog here to see the great makes by the DT.  You can get all the challenge details there too.  I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

Aloha,
Brenda

We all live...

Hi friends!  Welcome to another Top Tip Tuesday Challenge.  This week our hostess is Elaine and she wants to see how a song inspires you this fortnight.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Stamp and Create:

It's pretty obvious what song inspired my card.  Yellow Submarine is one of my favorite Beatles songs and the Beatles are one of my very favorite groups (showing my age).

I had such fun making this card.  I "smooshed" Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers  and  Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks to make the background.  I added a little Smooch Spritz and stamped a Fawn Lawn sentiment.  The free digi is by Kathy Ahrens which I found here.  I printed the digi on yellow cardstock (which is my tip for this week) and then added a little Copic coloring and Sakura Glaze pen to make the rivets.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, Scripty Sayings and that's about it.

I sure do hope you can make it by the Top Tip Tuesday Blog.  The ultra talented Deneen has a wonderful tutorial for you.  It's one I'm definitely going to try.  You will want to see the DT inspiration, wonderful as usual!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Looking forward to seeing what song inspires you.

Aloha,
Brenda

Green, Yellow and Blue Stitches

Short post to show a card I finished last night.  It has been so beautiful today.  I have spent much of the day outside, even did a little digging in the dirt a little.

The Cat's Pajamas has a color challenge going on.

And

Little Red Wagon has Challenge #294 going on, where you need to do something with Stitches.

Stamping as Fast as I Can!

This was the perfect opportunity to use my new stamps and stitched cloud dies from TCP.  I got out my TCP slider tool and helped the Bunny take flight.

CRAFT Challenge 316 - Anniversary or Wedding

Welcome to CRAFT Challenge #316.  This week we want to see your Anniversary or Wedding cards.

 Our sponsors this week are:

I chose a wonderful sentiment from Eureka Stamps to use with my  bride from Stamping Bella.  I purchased some Deco Foil and gave it a try on this lovely Congratulations digi.  I had a hard time getting the photo to show the gold foil, in real life it adds quite a classy touch.

I still have some learning to do when it comes to using foil.  I did find that running through my laminator several times seemed to work better than just once and you definitely have to use a laser printer.

I hope you have time this week to join in on the fun.  Be sure to stop by the CRAFT Challenge blog here to see all the creations the DT put together.  I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

A Melonheadz Bright Sweet Sunday

My family and I had a wonderful, lazy Sunday yesterday and as a result I got to spend some time in my room putting together this little card. The layout was inspired by this Sweet Sunday Sketch #273:

The colors were inspired by Summer and met the challenge at Melonheadz Friends which is to use bright colors. I used one of the Melonheadz freebies Nikki so kindly shared. Check out her blog here. I love all her little cuties! So, I want to enter this card in these challenges:

Chickens and Checks

Hi everyone!  Yesterday was a work holiday for me, a holiday unique to Hawaii.  King Kamehameha Day is June 11, and celebrates the birth of Kamehameha I.  I hope to have pictures of his statue draped in the beautiful lei in the next few days.

As a result of the day off, I had some time in my little room and made a few cards (3).  This is really remarkable because I am so slow at putting cards together, especially lately.  Needless to say I was very pleased to get something accomplished.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Little Red Wagon #293 - Use a farm animal (I love chickens!)
Crafty Cardmakers #140 - Stitching, real or faux (faux x-stitching around the squares and stitching on the ribbon)
A Day for Daisies #123- CASE one of the ADAF designers cards (it's quite obvious I cased Juliana's great card)

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Brenda

Come On, Cut It Out!

Hi everyone!  This week the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge is hosted by Lisa, and she wants you to CUT IT OUT.  As you can see, our fab sponsor is Shape EZ and we all used their wonderful cut files as the base of our creations.

Before I get to my project, I want you to know, Samantha is extending the DT call another fortnight.  Here are the details on applying and what the requirements are.  If you love coloring and creating, this is a great place to play.

On to my project...
Shape EZ DIY Rolled Bag
I used the very versatile rolled bag. I tell ya, I started cutting these and couldn't stop.   Five bags later and I have pre-made packaging for upcoming birthday treats.  My tip for this week is that you can use these files even if you don't have a cutting machine, just import the image to a word processing program, print the PDF on the wrong side of your paper and cut it out with scissors.  I love that you can change things up and size it to fit your need.  Deneen has some great tips for "Cutting It Out" on the blog.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you haven't come from the TTT, head on over there now for the full scoop on entering for a chance to win.  The inspiration from the DT is stellar as usual.

Don't forget to post your tips for a chance at a guest designer spot.  Can't wait to see what you create.  Also, don't be shy now,  drop your name in the hat for the design team spots, TTT is a really great bunch to work with!

Have a blessed week.

Brenda
