Merry Monday and TCPTUES Combo

I combined two of my favorite challenges to come up with another Christmas card for my stash.  TCP Tuesday is a great sketch challenge and Merry Monday has challenged us to use carolers or a music theme.

Here's my combo card:

This card was made with SU! Very Vanilla which put a very vanilla hue on this card.  The snowflake is so much prettier in real life, nice a sparkly!

Hoping your weekend is full of all you love!

TCPTUES 282

I love card sketches!  This one for TCPTUES282 is a great one.

I needed to make a Valentine's card at my husband's request which shocked me!  Don't get me wrong, he is one of the really good ones...he supports me and all my crazy ideas, sometimes more actively than others.  I think he is happy I have my little craft room to retreat to because that leaves him able to have the TV all to himself (he likes zombies, I like happy endings).  When I show my stuff to him I get a "oh, that's nice" or the noncommittal "ahuh", not even really sure he looked at it.  So I took this request as an endorsement.

Here's the fun sketch:

And here's my card:

I have one more card made with this sketch which I hope to post tomorrow night,  gotta get some photos taken.  Hope you are heading into a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping in!

Aloha,
Brenda

I was looking forward to using one of the new Verve sets I recently purchased.  I saw this Mojo Monday sketch and began thinking about what I wanted to do.  When I saw a commercial for Mardi Gras and knew which way I wanted to go.  The masks from Masquerade were perfect matched with the traditional Mardi Gras colors of gold, purple and green.  Oh, and by the way, the die for this set is now on my wish list!

Here's the sketch:

Fairy Wisdom Mini

For the CRAFT 295 Challenge post, please click here.

I wanted to post the pictures of the 'Fairy Wisdom' mini book made from paper towel rolls.  I have just recently learned about the wonderful digital designs at A Day for Dasies.  I am absolutely smitten with them and was totally inspired to come up with this book for my daughter.  I'm hoping it will in turn provide inspiration for her.  I love the thought of fairies.  I like to imagine them as tiny messengers of God, helping us through our days.

Here ya go:

You can see in the last picture where a decorated piece has been slipped in the "tube" for pictures or notes.  This was so fun to make.  I can't wait to send it to Kelly!

Thanks so much for checking out my work!

Brenda

The prize will be a $10 certificate for Imagine That! Digital Stamps

A Day for Daisies is a new to me company. I gotta tell you, I love their images!  I knew I wanted to make a mini album for my daughter using paper towel rolls. When I saw ADFD fairies, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

This pretty fairy is called Tiny Poppy Fairy.  I flattened the paper rolls with my Sizzix machine and added paper and embellishments.  I added inserts with a decorative paper tab so you can add journaling, pictures or more quotes.  If you would like to see more pages and more beautiful faries look here.

If you haven't checked out the creations of the design team, head on over the the challenge blog for inspiration and to link up your creations!

Thanks so much for dropping by!  Hope your week has been full of blessings!

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge-Something New

New Year, new baby, new home, new technique...many choices fit into the newest Top Tip Tuesday Challenge!

Prize is $10 coupon code.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Hannah Lynn Art!  If you haven't looked at all these gorgeous images, you definitely need to take the time to do so.  I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated by these gorgeous girls.  I am still a novice Copic person and the hair on these babes was not something I was looking forward to.  I have to say, it wasn't as hard as I expected.  I really like the way my redhead turned out.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #250 for the layout of my card. I loved this image, Rainbow Sky Mermaid. She will work perfectly for a graduate who will be heading on a wonderful new adventure!

Be sure to stop by the challenge blog and link up your NEW creations.  I would love to see what you come up with!  You are definitely going to want to see what the DT has created.  They have come up with some beauties!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Aloha,
Brenda

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge: Keep It Simple

Welcome to the first Top Tip Tuesday of 2015!  I am so looking forward to a year full of fun with this challenge and the awesome creative women on the design team!  To start the year off, we are Keeping it Simple.  Easy enough right?

First off our Fab sponsor for this challenge is Sweet Stamps.com.  the prize is a $10.00 gift certificate for the Sweet Stamps Store!

Here's my take on the challenge theme:
I have to admit, once I decided what colors to use where and with what washi tape, this was a super fast card to make. I will be making this card in multiples to thank my wonderful friends and family for their thoughtful Christmas gifts.

My first tip is related to that.  Keeping it simple makes it easy to mass produce cards like this.  My second tip is to place a piece of tape on the back of a label to hold your letters in place.  Super simple!

Take a minute to pop in to see all the wonderful creations the DT has to share.  We look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations!

Aloha,
Brenda

PS: Here are a some other cards I made with this same recipe...

Supplies:
Paper:  Neenah Creative Collection Kraft cardstock and other cardstock scraps
Ink:  Black Soot Distress Ink
Washi Tape: Unknown maker
Die:  Taylored Expressions (This was a "token of appreciation" given to me by my favorite stamp store owner)
